Bishop Eddie Long is Strapped for Cash
Last Sunday a woman walked up to embattled preacher Bishop Eddie Long during his sermon and handed him a stack of a thousand one dollar bills. Long seemed surprised as he hugged “baby girl” and said: “I see EVERYBODY moving like that!”
But according to Rhymeswithsnitch’s Daily Long Report, the Bishop’s own congregation seem to think the woman’s generous gesture was a hoax.
Her approach seemed timed to coincide with him saying, “What I NEED…”
They say the unlikely act of generosity was staged to nudge other members into opening their wallets and donating $1,000 or more for a proposed expansion of the church to other cities.
New Birth Missionary Baptist Church has seen a staggering decline in attendance since the news of his multimillion dollar settlement with former church members who claim they were coerced into providing Long with sexual favors.
In a screenshot taken from the video, the church pews near the back appear empty — as do the church’s upper tiers. Last Sunday, attendance at the church was at less than ½ capacity.
At this rate, New Birth will be forced to shut its doors in 6 months if attendance doesn’t pick back up. Long needs a huge infusion of cash to replace the millions that he paid out to his accusers.

Kelly Rowland’s Estranged Father ‘Pleads for Forgiveness’
Did Kelly Rowland’s estranged father suddenly figure out who she was? According to online reports, Kelly’s biological dad, Christopher Lovett, who abandoned her when she was 7, wants to reunite with his daughter after 23 years.
Kelly, 30, whom everyone assumed was Mathews Knowles’ spawn, remembers her real father as being abusive towards her mother.
“I remember my dad being drunk and aggressive towards my mom but not me,” said the “Motivation” singer in a recent interview. “I don’t know if he knows who I am or what I’ve done. He must be hiding under a rock if he doesn’t.”
I told you in an earlier post that I once lived in the same apartment complex as Kelly’s mom here in Atlanta. She was an older woman, in her 60s, with very short, salt and pepper hair. She would sit on her porch near the complex’s front gates and wave as I drove by. It all makes sense now that I’ve seen a picture of Kelly’s father.
At 65, Kelly’s dad is no spring chicken himself. Decades of hard drinking has taken its toll on him. He walks with a stiff gait and a permanent foward lean as he cradles a framed photo of the grown woman he’s never known. The old gent has apparently watched his daughter’s meteoric rise out from behind Beyonce’s shadow to worldwide superstar.
CNN writer explains why Anthony Weiner should NOT resign from Congress
A female writer for CNN says Congress shouldn’t force Anthony Weiner to resign — even as the latest graphic images from the embattled congressman’s Blackberry hit the Internet this weekend.
CNN contributor Anne-Marie Slaughter, who teaches politics at Princeton University, wrote that men like Weiner should be excused for their bad behavior because the job of being a public servant is a thankless, low paying one.
She added that these representatives, who are “willing to give themselves up to the public” are “competitive, driven, extroverted and high risk takers” with “high testosterone.”
Ms. Slaughter argues that the downside of all that drive and testosterone is a scandal or two that we should all be willing to accept without regret.
Slaughter writes that we should look the other way in Weiner’s case because his character flaws, “if properly channeled” are “the sources of the kind of bold, decisive, even daring action that this country needs from its leaders.”
I’m not making any of this up.
Last week CNN featured an article by a writer who argued that society shouldn’t be so quick to bash Weiner’s narcissistic sexting because we’re ALL sexually deviant in one way or another.

According to Atlanta gossip blogger, Drama Dupree, our girl Ciara suffered an embarrassing lacefront malfunction while appearing at the Chateau Nightclub & Gardens in Las Vegas over the weekend. Poor Ciara was the victim of a messy makeup job, as you can see from these pics. It’s getting hard to find good professional makeup artists these days. In particular, makeup artists with expertise in applying foundation to all shades of black skin without overdoing it.

Socialite Christina Milian, 29, and her adorable baby Violet, 1, attended the 22nd Annual Time For Heroes Celebrity Picnic Sponsored By Disney To Benefit The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation in Hollywood over the weekend. Elizabeth Glaser died of AIDS in 1994. She was married to actor Paul Michael Glaser, of 80s “Starsky and Hutch” fame. Elizabeth didn’t know until 4 years later that she contracted HIV through a blood transfusion in 1981 while giving birth to the couple’s first child, Ariel. She founded the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation after Ariel died of AIDS in 1988 at age 7. The couple’s son Jake, now 24, also contracted HIV from his mother when he was born.

Former heavyweight champ Mike Tyson was spotted with his family riding in a luxury car on Boxing Hall Of Fame day in Canastota, New York yesterday. Mike and his family then entered the Hall of Fame to attend the ceremony where he posed on stage with actor Sly Stallone (of ‘Rocky’ fame). Mike was very emotional during the ceremony and was spotted crying a bit as members of the Boxing Hall of Fame spoke about his career.

Ja Rule’s Wife, Aisha: ‘My family is far from broke’
This is a heartwarming story about a rapper that you don’t often see in the media.
Last week, Hip Hop star Ja Rule, 35, turned himself in to New York authorities to begin serving a 2-year prison sentence for a conviction on weapons possession charges.
The Queens MC was arrested in 2007 during a traffic stop after police searched his vehicle and found a loaded weapon. Ja Rule, whose real name is Jeffrey Atkins, was on probation at the time.
But here’s where the story gets good: according to gossip blog TMZ, Ja Rule’s family will not go hungry while he’s on lockdown.
TMZ spoke to Ja’s long suffering wife, Aisha, who stood by her man as he turned himself in last week. Aisha is a ride-or-die chick whose love has never wavered despite all the rumors about him chasing tail.
Aisha disputed the latest rumors that her husband was going off to prison while leaving his family destitute.
Aisha tells TMZ, “He did leave us well off. All of the rumors about Ja being broke are far from true.”
Aisha adds, “Ja made sure… that me and my kids wouldn’t need anything as far as income goes. He planned well before he went in.“
“We won’t be bad… even for a little bit — that was Ja’s first priority as a man who makes sure family comes first.”
The “Pain Is Love” rapper and his high school sweetheart have a daughter, Brittany, and two sons, Jeffrey, Jr. and Jordan.
