Lounge singer Beyonce, 29, spent yesterday evening wrapped in the arms of another man — her bodyguard (and rumored lover) Julius. Bey displayed a rare moment of selflessness when she attended the launch party for her former bandmate Kelly Rowland at the Moet Rose Lounge in NYC last night.

Kelly Rowland also dropped by Planet Hollywood and BET’s 106 & Park yesterday as part of a full day of promotion for her album. Kelly is expected to exceed the first week sales of Beyonce’s album ’4,’ which dropped last month. Here I Am is in stores now!
Also attending the star-studded party were model Jessica White and singer Maxwell (I doubt if they came together); singers Michelle Williams (Destiny’s Child), Adrienne Bailon and Estelle, rapper Big Sean (who’s really more of a shrimp) and industry veterans Sylvia Rhone, Andre Harrell and Kevin Liles, among others.

Most of it has to do with my musical taste. I like singers who feel music in their soul. You can tell the types, like Mary, Jill hell even Miss Patty. Kelly is not that chick. Her CD has no passion. She doesn’t sound like she had fun in the studio. Her voice is very light and punched up with production tricks on nearly every song. Then on top of all that its a Techno CD as far as I’m concerned. It wasn’t made for me. But if you like Chris Brown or Usher’s latest music you can like this. I take that back. Both of them have good vocals despite all that ridiculous production. Kelly’s really wasn’t hittin on sh*t.
