Planking is a dangerous game during which a person (usually an idiot) lays down in a strange place, arms by his side, imitating a plank of wood (it has nothing to do with slave ships unless you think a slave is a piece of wood).
White college students started the planking craze on Facebook and it caught on with other social networking mediums. I actually thought planking had fizzled out on Black Twitter but I guess not.
This unfortunate sista almost got herself killed when she attempted to “plank” on a stove top and the stove fell on top of her! Check out the video after the break.

Celebs Out & About: Shawty Lo, Royce Reed, Polow Da Don
According to my spies inside the Velvet Room, rapper Shawty Lo and reality TV star Royce Reed (Basketball Wives) are now an item. Please note the question mark at the end of the post title and please do not quote me on this one. I’m told that the happy couple came to the club together and left together. “Shawty stuck so close to Royce that she couldn’t breathe!” said my spy. Shawty, who is signed to 50 Cent’s G-Unit Records, has two chicks fighting for his affections in Atlanta. He has quite the reputation for being a ladies man, and now Royce Reed is under his spell!
Rap mogul Polow Da Don has a new lady love. I don’t know her name or anything about her, but she wants you ladies to know that Polow is indeed off the market. Polow and his lady attended his 4th annual Celebration 4 A Cure: Where Music Meets Fashion For A Cause event last night in Atlanta presented by Zone 4 Inc. (click here to see more pics). Proceeds from the event will go towards finding a cure for cancer.

Nicki Minaj Stayed 15 Min at Velvet Room Then Left; She Was Booed As She Walked Out
Less than a week after her longtime boyfriend, Safaree Samuel, bashed her face in with a suitcase, Nicki Minaj met her contractual obligations by hosting a party at the Velvet Room in Atlanta Sunday night. But she didn’t stay long. In fact, according to a source who works at the club, Nicki stayed 15 minutes and then dipped!
My sources tell me she was paid a whopping $30,000 for her appearance at the Velvet Room in Tucker, Georgia, a suburb North of Atlanta. But when she got to the club, Nicki made it clear that she did not want to be photographed.
“She walked in like she was Michael Jackson, with 20 people and she wanted to sit in the VIP by herself,” my sources told me. “She walked into the VIP and stood behind her bodyguard for 15 minutes and then she left!” My sources say the entire club booed Nicki loudly as she walked out.
“In the six years that the Velvet Room has been open we never had anybody booed like that,” said my source.
New Couple Alert: Tracee Ellis Ross and Bu Thiam (Def Jam VP)
Actress Tracee Ellis Ross has a new man in her life. His name is Bu Thiam, the rising 20-something executive at Def Jam Records!
The two lovebirds showed up hand-in-hand at club Mansion in Atlanta on Saturday night. They walked into the club together and headed straight for their reserved VIP booth. My spies tell me Bu flew Tracee in for the weekend and lavished her with expensive trinkets. Bu spent thousands of dollars on bottles of champagne for his sweetie and their friends in the VIP.
As you know, Ellis, 38, is the daughter of legendary singer Diana Ross. In addition to being Akon’s brother, Bu is the VP of A&R at Def Jam. He has the distinction of A&R’ing the much-anticipated new album by Jay Z and Kanye West entitled Watch The Throne.
The CD is set to drop on August 2nd. My source at Def Jam tells me that those who’ve heard the album are already calling it a classic! I can’t wait to hear it!

Jay Z continues to have erectile dysfunction problems
Here are pictures of Beyoncé and her husband Jay Z strolling in New York over the weekend. It looks like Jay Z continues to have problems with erectile dysfunction, otherwise known as priapism.
Priapism is a common side effect of a drug often prescribed for men with penile erection dysfunction, such as Viagra. Erectile dysfunction (or impotency) occurs when a man is unable to sustain an erection long enough to satisfy a woman (or man) during sexual intercourse.
