White University Rejects 13-year-old ‘Racist Poet’
Raised by her militant father to reject America’s multicultural values, a 13-year-old child prodigy was just informed that she’s not good enough for the first time in her life.
Autum Ashante was only 7 years old when she stood before her middle school audience to recite her poem comparing Christopher Columbus and Charles Darwin to “pirates and vampires” that “robbed Blacks of their identity.” Moments before, she had recited the “Black Child’s Pledge” of the Black Panther Party.
“Black lands taken from your hands by vampires with no remorse. They took the gold, the wisdom and all the storytellers. They took the Black women, with the Black man weak. Made to watch as they changed the paradigm of our village… White nationalism is what put you in bondage: pirates and vampires like Columbus, Morgan and Darwin drank the blood of the sheep, trampled all over them with steel, tricks and deceit…”
Some white students walked out, and the NY Post reported that Autum was banned from reciting the poem at any public school.
Autumn’s father, Batin Ashante, a devout follower of the Minister Louis Farrakhan, explained that there had been violent clashes between Black and Latino students at Autum’s middle school, and she wanted to give them something to think about “that would stop them from wanting to kill each other.”
Ashante abruptly pulled his daughter out of the public school system and home-schooled her for the next 6 years.
The child prodigy, once dubbed the “racist poet,” landed in the headlines again when she was accepted to the mostly white University of Connecticut this year at the tender age of 13.

Welp, the final numbers have been tallied for Beyonce’s much-maligned ’4′ album — including the digital downloads. Not even hugging black kids from the local Boys’ and Girls’ Club or making a surprise visit to Target — a shop she wouldn’t be caught dead in otherwise — could boost Beyonce’s album sales.
Now we can get on with our lives…
The jury has reached a verdict in the sensational murder trial of Casey Anthony in an Orlando, Florida courtroom today. After listening to testimony from both sides for nearly 6 weeks, they found her not guilty.
Anthony pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder in the death of her daughter, Caylee. She could have faced the death penalty if she had been convicted.
Update: Casey Anthony was found guilty of lying to police. She will be out of prison in less than a year.
Update II, 3:43 p.m.
According to Drudge Report, the media blew the Casey Anthony case. But why did they turn Nancy Grace’s picture upside down though?
Photo of the Day: Tichina Arnold and her lesbian lover
Actress Tichina Arnold (“Everybody Hates Chris”) came flying out of the closet this weekend when she posted pics of herself and her cutie pie lover on her Facebook page.
Wait, you didn’t know Tichina was a lesbian? I thought I told you that she lived with rapper MC Lyte for at least 5 years in Atlanta in the 90s? Tichina, who has a daughter, turned 40 on June 28. Happy birthday to her!
Would you marry a prince for millions if you didn’t love him?
I guess that’s a dumb question these days…
Arranged marriages are nothing new. Other cultures have arranged marriages for their daughters or sons since the beginning of time. It’s just a bit strange to see an arranged marriage played out live in televised images beamed to millions of people around the world.
That’s exactly what happened this weekend when Prince Albert II of Monaco took the hand of South African swimmer Charlene Wittstock in marriage.
Reportedly Charlene was offered a tidy sum (millions of dollars) to marry Albert and bear him an heir to the throne. Prince Albert, 53, assumed the throne in 2005. He is the son of the late American actress Grace Kelly and Prince Albert I, ruler of Monaco.
Monaco is a tiny principality in the French Riviera bordering France. Considered a playground of the rich, Monaco has its own laws, customs and traditions. It’s economy is propped up by casinos and tourism, and it is a tax-free haven to the filthy rich.
But let’s get back to Albert and Charlene.
It seems that she agreed to marry him because Albert has a thing for loose women. He knows he’s not marriage material, but he needs an heir to assume the throne when he passes on.
The sex-starved prince has already impregnated 2 women (that we know of). But Monaco’s constitution will not allow illegitimate children to assume the throne, even though they are entitled to the prince’s riches. Now a third woman has come forward with paternity papers in hand just days before the wedding.
Celebrity Seed: Tyrese Gibson
‘Transformers’ star Tyrese Gibson, 32, celebrated Independence Day by spending quality time with his daughter, Shayla, in Malibu, California. The doting dad took photos of his little girl as she enjoyed splashing in the surf at the seaside.
Tyrese, who once famously ordered his ex-wife to “get a job” during their bitter custody battle for Shayla, believes in polygamy. The hunky actor says men should be allowed to have as many wives as they want. During an interview with Power 105.1′s Breakfast Club morning show, Tyrese said,
“Polygamy is just a like a concept of moving around, just do you. Get your pimpin’ right and at least give the girls the heads up… I think the whole… dippin’ all 5, 6 women simultaneously, makin’ them all think that they the only one, that’s when people get fired up in the end.”

Beyoncé featured in Vogue Italia
Lounge singer Beyoncé is featured in an artsy B&W spread in this month’s Italian version of Vogue magazine, Vogue Italia. No, it isn’t your imagination: she really does look like a younger version of Katherine Hepburn, when Hepburn was in her heyday back in the 60s.
