Hey Sandra,
My name is Aisha Nicole. First off let me say I love your blog and read it every morning and at lunch time while at work
We chat sometimes on twitter. I would love to be featured on the Morning Glory post! I work full time in Corporate America at a Brokerage Firm however my passion is modeling. I am a print model from Chicago looking to take over the game one photo at a time. Im considered to be curvy in the modeling world even though Im only a size 8, its hard to get signed if you’re not a size 0 or size 12….. I feel I represent the everyday woman. Also it is extremely hard not to be typecast as a Video vixen or Glamour model if you are a little thick.
Im working on creating a better image for women of color who are curvy. We are more than our hips and thighs. I plan to use my “Face” to get ahead and not my ass…..even though that’s great too. I have dreams of gracing the covers of top beauty mags like Vogue or Harper’s Bazaar. What ever happened to showcasing garments, hair and beauty products ? Thank you for your consideration.

This is getting out of hand. There are beautiful Black women all over the place, but this aspiring model ish has to stop. How many successful and respected Black models are there? Will any couture houses see these pics and book these chicks? Or are they just trying to be in Rick Ross’ video? I mean, really….

Aisha the pics with the blue shirt and guitar looks nice! Lose the other ones especially the one with your hands through your hair, you look high and hungover in that one! Other than that keep on going and good luck!
I think she should seriously consider being a video vixen because her body is a video vixen type of body. Being a video vixen does not have to necessarily mean you are bad or any bad connotations. High fashion and plus size, I can’t see her doing that. She didn’t tell us how tall she is either.

I am soooooooooo sick and M and Effin tired of this bullshat. Why everyone and their mama wants to be a “model” is beyond me. I’m am convinced that this is what happens when you don’t expose your children to extra curricular activities and culture. This is what happens when children don’t have comprehensive African American History taught to them and don’t learn what we have been through what we have done and what we are capable of. This is what happens when we don’t show our children that they can be more than a rapper, athlete, video model (hoe) or a damn BBQ wife… I’m done with this ****ery.

so this is a daily thing? ok. she does have a nice shape. if I may offer a disclaimer:
Being attractive, tall, picturesque or photogenic, or told by people with no credentials to model – doesn’t mean you should model. 9/10 people I see that say they want to model just take nice pics or are easy on the eyes. Every once in a while you see a guy or girl that stops traffic, and not necessarily in a sexual way. But they have it. Now that person should pursue modeling.
Then again, there are hand models, foot models, etc.

I guess it depends on what kind of “model” you’re trying to become. If you’re sending your pics to blogs like this, I’m assuming you’re not shooting for high fashion magazines/high fashion runway/victoria secret type modeling…you know, the kind of models who get PAID. If you’re looking for a shoot in one of the hip hop mags or black hair monthlies, someone that reads this blog might possibly know someone who takes photos in his basement.

Screw the modeling industry. Her body is super perfect. She should not have to gain or lose weight to get into the industry, but that is what it is. I hate to say stick with corporate america when she has a passion for something else, but….

Chile, yesterday I think I saw a video vixen! I was walking on Penn Ave in DC, only blks from the capitol. A young girl gets out a car. First of all, she had on short, short booty shorts and a cropped top. She had what looked like a 22 in waist and 44 in hips, u know like Nicki Ninja. She had on stilettos(sp) and carried a huge designer bag. Her hair or HIV(hair I bought) was in long, long twisted braids. And she was going into a bank dressed like this!!!! All eyes were on her with mouths hanging open. She stared at me like, what u looking at? I told her: Chile, you dressed for attention and you certainly getting it so why you looking at me crosseyed?
