Artist manager and music executive Phillana Williams celebrated her birthday at Salon Millesime last night in New York City. As you know, Phillana started out as Ciara’s manager. But before that she was an assistant at the now defunct LaFace Records in Atlanta. LaFace is responsible for establishing the careers of so many movers and shakers in the music industry! Many of whom came out last night to support Phillana!

Phillana’s artist Miguel chose last night as a coming out of sorts for his longtime girlfriend (whose name is being withheld for now). Isn’t she pretty? We’re told that the two lovebirds have been together for some years now, and my inside sources ASSURED us that she IS his real girlfriend. So this ends all specualtion about Miguel’s sexuality once and for all.
Business Women: Universal Music Group Appoints Ethiopia Habtemariam to head Motown
Ethiopia Habtemariam’s dizzying climb up the ladder of success began when she was an intern at LaFace Records back in the early 90s. She stood out even as an intern because she was one of the kindest, sweetest people you could ever meet in the music industry. One of Ethiopia’s strong points is her ability to connect with people from all walks of life and to make a difference in their lives.
So it is no surprise to hear that Universal Music Group has named Ethiopia Habtemariam as the new head of Motown label! In addition to taking over Sylvia Rhone’s former job, Ethiopia is also Sr. Vice President of Creative for Universal Music Publishing, where she was instrumental in signing such artists as Justin Beiber, Ciara, Polow Da Don, Chris Brown and Ludacris to publishing deals!
And in her spare time, Ethiopia also manages singer/songwriter Keri Hilson!
Ethiopia has been with Universal Music Group since 2003. Last year, she was promoted to Senior Vice President and Head of Urban Music, according to The Wrap.
Ethiopia is a bright, shining example of what you can achieve when you work hard and you are kind to others.

My exclusive source states that Williams (who is newly single) tried her best to grab the attention of star 25-year-old NY Yankees player Ivan Nova who was sightseeing in town with his parents. Although the reality star tried her best to woo the player in a pair of barely there jean shorts. The only thing that MLB player gave out was his autograph and a cold shoulder. Ouch!
Rihanna rushes back into the arms of the only man who can tame her
According to the gossip rags, troubled singer Rihanna is back with her old boyfriend in Barbados — after she was dumped or dismissed by professional athletes in America.
According to The Sun (via The Daily Mail), Rihanna is back with Sealy Negus, the Lothario who is affectionately known as “The Love God” by all the loose women that he’s run through in Barbados.
Negus has hardly left Rihanna’s side, according to The Sun. He was her first true love.
“They’ve hooked up in the past when she’s been back in Barbados but now things have progressed into a proper relationship again,” the Sun quotes a source as saying.
Kanye West and Jay Z accused of ticket price gouging
A few of our loyal readers are complaining bitterly about the cost of tickets to Kanye West and Jay Z’s ‘The Throne’ Tour. The tour kicks off at Philips Arena in Atlanta on October 29, and some fans say they can’t afford the outrageous prices that Live Nation is asking for tickets.

The tickets for the Washington DC show are $265/Each in this economy? Talk about tending the throne, these two tired rappers are gouging the pubic, making Jay-Z and Kanye richer, but it won’t be me that’s for sure for two assholes. $265 is half of my car note, but they don’t care. Who do they think they are? Jay-Z’s rap is old and so is he, and Kanye is a Beyonce groupie. F-that Sandra. But the show will probably sell-out nonetheless
Rather than rely on reader quotes of tickets, we did our own checking. We learned that the cheapest ticket to ‘The Throne’ Tour at Philips is only $83. That’s not bad when you consider the magnitude of the talent onstage. I am speaking specifically of Kanye West, of course.
Shannon Brown’s baby mama is on Twitter
I didn’t know Shannon Brown’s baby mama, Sharde, was on Twitter.com. Not that it’s important, but she did drag Shannon through the courts earlier this year to increase her child support. I could have sworn the judge forbid her from spreading vicious lies on the Internets? We’ll never know because her Twitter page is locked, and we’re not following her.
But it was brought to our attention recently that Sharde (or Sharday) assumes fake user names on different blogs and message boards all in an attempt to cast aspersions on singer Monica’s good name.
