Madea’s Big Happy Family DVD & Blu-ray Available Now!

Actor/director Tyler Perry reprises his signature role as Madea, the sassy, gun-toting matriarch in the movie adaptation of his popular 2010 stage play.

In Lionsgate’s “Madea’s Big Happy Family”, Madea comes to the aid of his niece Shirley (played by Loretta Divine) who’s just been hit with bad news about her health.

Shirley wants to break the sad news to her three grown children, Tammy (Natalie Desselle-Reid), Kimberly (Shannon Kane) and former drug dealer Byron (Shad “Bow Wow” Moss) who is fresh out of prison. But the children are too wrapped up in their own problems to listen to her. So enter Madea, who dispenses healthy doses of tough love to bring the family together

Mamacita, you’re not alone. I actually enjoyed this film too. I think the message was clear and powerful… Life is short – give love to everyone you truly care about EVERYDAY because you just don’t know when it will be over. As for Colombiana, I’m going to check that out this weekend. I would have went last weekend, but that hefa Irene jacked up my plans. Mother Nature is the baddest bytch on the planet!

I had a hard time getting through the first 15 minutes of this movie, Mr. Brown jokes were not humorous. I would like to think I have a sense of humor, Tyler Perry’s characters are funny the first time you see them but to repeat the same type foolishness over and over insults my intelligence. I talked to my college kids this weekend, and was surprised that they hadn’t seen some of the old black classics-they have no idea who Cecily Tyson is. Just like books, there are other forms of education for our young minds. Next time I will just drop off my $10 dopnation at Tyler Perry studios

@ crickett i can relate it’s the same stuff all the time, really it is. after a while it aint funny anymore he needs new substance, i support my people, so i mean get that money tyler, but give us something more, i know you can do it, and get more writers to help you give them a job so they can critique some of the stuff that you repeat to many times, and we need more than just your opinion, we need a universal opinion, yes you say some good things to give a message but most of the things you give us, we learned in the early stages of life if your target audience is between 18-50, bring us more what the outcome will be if we choose the road we’re on, show the younger girls that that it’s more than just being ghetto , and having a baby daddy, direspecting your husband now that get me rough up , and whinning thru the whole damn movie.”eeeeeeeeee, that ish was so annoying …but anyway TP keep the actress and actors working oh before I go, can you give new actress and actors a chance the same ones all the time it’s just just just ummmmmm becomes them to much, and have a good day.

this movie had a lot of GOOD messages in it…but it was hard to watch! too much going on…tyler needs to pay for some writers to flesh out his ideas and make several movies out instead of making one movie with a one hundred different messages crammed in.
