She had the respect of radio again with “Everything to Me”…b/c I traveled alot when that song/album “Still Standing” was out and it was in rotation a helleva lot of places. And it was one of her if not THE biggest hit she ever had. But in typical Mo fashion she decides to distract from the natural course of things. Have a baby, get married, etc. etc….seems like there is always something with her.

I’m not saying these folks can’t have a personal life. Not saying that. AT ALL. But don’t KEEP walking away when the spotlight is on you, things are shining, and keep expecting your fans to wait around until you finish doing what you are doin. There was ALOT of hype around that last album. She had a show during the recording of that album…and then nothing really This is a pattern with her. And I know she reads here but I think if I am not mistaken this what I just said is going to be the sentiment of most of us who are TRULY fans of Mo.

Natural talent and tools to be one of the best at what they do but used their talents only for access to people/status/things they might have otherwise have had to fight like regular groupies to get to.

But Man, that can happen to any artist at any show if the sound system or the mic is sub par. I walked out on a Jill Scott concert once (sorry – I know you hater her) because she didn’t bring her own engineer and the sound system was garbage.

see what happens Monica when you let JD produce or exec produce any songs for you? He had her do “im too hood for you.” I couldn’t believe they even put that song out. It was on that ‘all eyes on me’ cd that kept getting pushed back. JD practically killed her career when he did the next lead single from her follow up cd. And that’s when rumors started she was being dropped from the label. It was the song with them white tee guys. Sideline ho was on that cd too. Monica knew better than that.

I think missy works for her, but all missy does is pull songs from the 70’s and put lyrics to them.

I love “Anything” I jam that all the time in the car! Monica has already stated she is staying true to who she is. She is not to be a cross over artist. Monica has always been the underdog people don’t expect her to sell big but look at “Still Standing” all the hassle on the sales and it was still nominated for a grammy! How many artist can come out and stay in the game for 15 years plus without taking off clothes singing about sex. Look at Patti Labelle she was always overshadowed by Diana Ross and Aretha Franklin but she stayed true to herself and one of the most respected singers in the world today!

Monica had a #1 song for 7 weeks last year. 2 hits songs from her album, 2 grammy noms, billboard award noms,she went gold in 3 weeks. Anything was going to be a hit until they took Kim off. She did not even promote it and it got to top 20. 20 million records sold world wide. Monica already blew up in the 90’s and the 2000’s, she went threw a lot took a break had kids. Not everybody looking to be a media whore. The woman has been working since she was 11 years old. Back to back #1’s when she was thirteen. She can do what she wants at this point in her career. Clive already tried pulling the puppet strings. Her fans love this song. That”s who is important not the same people hating on every post. Someone talking about being in club all the time.
