Confirmed: Gloria Govan and Matt Barnes are a wrap
According to sports groupie extraordinaire, Jill, — Lakers bench warmer, Matt Barnes, and “Basketball Wives: LA” star Gloria Govan have called it quits. The couple have two boys together.
Jill posted the following official statement from Barnes’ publicist on her blog today:
Statement from Lakers Forward Matt Barnes:
I’d like to address the rumors surrounding mine and Gloria (Govan’s) relationship. We have reached the difficult decision of ending our relationship and will be going our separate ways at this time. We will work together to raise our sons and wish each other only the best.
That’s sad to hear. Especially when little ones are involved.
“Basketball Wives: LA” airs Mondays at 8/7c on VH1.

Yup, people need to stop staying in these unhealthy and unhappy relationships for their children. It’s all fine and good that mommy and daddy are together, but kids can sense when chit ain’t right. I know soooo many miserable mofoe’s that’s just WITH their bm or bd.
I read somewhere (I think, fb) that some people are just meant to be the parent of your kid/s and not your spouse. I can kind of agree on this because my daughter’s father…..smdh. We created something so special together, but dat nicca cannot/willnot be anything more than her dad! We were not meant to be together, but I believe we were meant to create her.

I always said Gloria has come into her own and did not desire marriage anymore. She was basically living under his shadow and being a baby mamma. I believe the show and her branching out to other ventures gave her self confidence. She realized that she could and will be happy without him.
