VH1: “Kimsha stopped showing up for filming on BBW LA”
2 weeks after the premiere of the Los Angeles spin off of Shaunie O’Neal’s dysfunctional “Basketball Wives” on VH1, my loyal readers noticed that one of the cast members was missing.
Then a scandalous Facebook page popped up supposedly updated by missing cast member Kimsha Artest, who claimed Shaunie kicked her off the show.
The Facebook page featured blog worthy quotes, such as “buckle ass bitches”, and other gems.
Unfortunately for us bloggers, the Kimsha Artest Facebook page was fake.
But didn’t we tell you in this post that Kimsha Artest, wife of LA Lakers star Ron Artest, didn’t fit the role of a messy reality show cast member because she is really a sweetheart?
Kimsha is part of a clique of sports wives who actually spend their time giving to others rather than combing the blogs for hawt gossip or scheming to steal other women’s husbands. That clique includes former “Football Wives” cast member Chanita Foster (pictured above with Kimsha), who frequently travels to Africa to feed the hungry.
Kimsha finally cleared the air about the reason she’s not on the show in a recent interview with Hip Hollywood. She said she quit the show because the cast members of BBW LA were not conducting themselves as respectable wives. She also said anyone who read the Facebook page should have known that wasn’t her.
She even hinted that Shaunie herself might be behind the fake Facebook page.
Anybody who read that could’ve known that, that was not me period. I’m not a Facebook person; I do have a Facebook but that’s not my name. Whoever it is can go kick rocks. All the negativity and comments, they can kick rocks too.
She also commented on the supposed beef between her, Shaunie and Miami cast member Evelyn Lozada:
“I don’t know Shaunie, I don’t know Evelyn. What beef? That’s fabricated through someone else.”
The BBW LA producers released a statement saying Kimsha Artest is no longer a cast member because she simply stopped showing up for filming:
“When Kimsha Artest signed on to be in ‘Basketball Wives: LA,’ we were very excited to have her onboard. That is why we were confused and disheartened when after a limited number of days shooting she stopped showing up for filming. This is the sole and only reason Kimsha has not appeared on more episodes of the series. Her minimal coverage on the show was entirely her decision and not that of Shed Media, VH1 or Executive Producer Shaunie O’Neal.’Basketball Wives: LA’ continues to be a ratings success for VH1 every Monday night.”
Kudos to Kimsha for being a proud, intelligent black woman and walking off the set of BBW LA once she realized how messy the script, the producers and the other women were!

Round of applause for Kimsha. I can’t even watch the BBW series without cringing, I don’t even know why they call it BB Wives. A majority of them are not and have not even been married let alone to a pro BB player. So again I applaud Kimsha for rising above the pettiness and retaining her dignity.
It is definitely scripted! I am not a fighting person, but there is no way I would let some of those chicks get away with those actions. For instance, when Draya and Big Bird were fighting, after them gloves came off I would have plucked Big Bird’s feathers.
That whole scene of “someone” calling Bird Bird saying Draya spilled the truth about her craziness made no sense either. If someone is allegedly talking about your kids, are you going to wait to see them when you around your peeps, or are you going to “kick down a door a smack a bish.”
I’m kinda confused as to what she thought she was signing up for. I know she had to watch BBQ Miami….did she think the LA Wives were gonna be different?
Its respectable that she walked away though. A check aint always a check…

@point- From what I read this morning, it looks like the first two weeks are going to be canceled as of right now. Tony Parker is going to play for a French team making only 2Gs a month. #YIKES I have been saying time and time again that the NBA should give a accounting class. morning folks! ummm….all reality tv shows are scripted…i just think of it like any other show on tv…this isn’t real…you don’t know much about any of the folks that are on reality tv..you know what the writers and producers want you to see and that usually isn’t even real.
It really looks like it won’t be a NBA season.

@chiby I heard that taking the kiddies to school. Can’t say I blame her. Though hubby and I don’t have one, I think EVERYONE should get a prenup no matter how much money you do or don’t have. You never know what circumstances you fall into later. Family inheritances all of that could be up for grabs in a messy divorce.

Shaunie said they do positive stuff, but the only example they gave was them paying for ONE semester for ONE girl to go to college. All that money she stole and still getting from Shaq, it should have been more. I know she did it with Tami, but that’s the only positive example she gave for three months of taping. Evelyn got a store no one shops in and selling them shirts with that played out saying.

Who didn’t know the show was scripted? Tami went in depth explaining how she was paid to show her azz and how it pays her bills. Meka was specifically casted to get mopped by Tami. I simply can’t get into the LA version. Jackie is a damn mess

Just read an article that claims that Evelyn Lozada is supposed to be suing that fake blog M…T….O for defamation of character about the cheating with T.O. story
