Miami Heat star LeBron James, 27, popped the question to his high school sweetheart and mother of his two boys, Savannah, 26, during a private dinner in Miami last night. The couple, who’ve been together for 8 years, did it the right way: by waiting until they knew it was the right time for both of them.
Most marriages fail because couples mistakenly believe that great Dopamine-fueled sex means they are compatible for life. But once the chemicals stop flowing in their brains, they realize they have nothing in common, and they are left wondering what they ever saw in each other in the first place.
Singer Katy Perry and actor Russell Brand said the reason their 14-month marriage failed was because “it just wasn’t there any more.” Katy and Russell are a classic example of immature people who confused great sex for love.
Women are especially at fault because a woman believes any man is her “property” as soon as he hits it. True love is more than just great sex. Intelligent men and women know better than to trust their emotions when making life changing decisions.
Actress Gabrielle Union and Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade are another couple who have chosen to wait before jumping the broom.
LeBron and Savannah shared their big night with their oldest son, Bronny, 7.
Also attending the New Year/birthday dinner were LeBron’s teammates Chris Bosh and his wife Adrienne, Dwyane Wade and his fiancee, Gabriele Union; Juwan Howard and his wife Jenine; actress Sanaa Lathan, rapper Fat Joe, and more! LeBron celebrated his 27th birthday on Friday.

Not to throw shade Sandra, but why would you have children with someone you weren’t sure was the one you wanted to spend the rest of your life with. We have it confused in our community. Marriage is LESS of a commitment than children. Why applaud LeBron for something he should have done two kids ago?
BTW, word has it, his marketing/management team was pushing for this one.

I’m from Akron, OH … LeBron went to every prom and only one was with Savannah. He never hid his exploits. Until his 2nd year in Cleveland when I read somewhere about Savannah, I thought some white chick was his girlfriend because they were together all the time. That’s been a while and other than Sandra posting about LeBron and Ciara, I haven’t heard or seen anything else…not that I’ve asked or care.
My New Year Prayer for them is that it’s really their time and LeBron leaves his womanizing ways behind him.

Sorry but I feel she caught him in something and he’s stalling for time. The ole “emergency” engagement ploy….I mean really they’ve been together since hi school and already have two kids…engagements were a get to know you more intimately and start to blend our lives period…they’ve already been doing that for years. A real surprise would have been to fly her out to Vegas and take the vows…it’s past time.
