Photo of the Day: Space shuttle Discovery takes off on its final flight

The Space shuttle Discovery was given a piggy back ride on the back of a Boeing 747 jet as it took off on its final flight today. The final destination is the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum in Virginia, where Discovery will be moth balled and put on display for future generations to view.

Discovery was the fleet leader of NASA’s three surviving shuttles. Its last space flight was in March 2011.

I can’t remember if those were his exact words… but either way it’s true. You got people in this country homeless and starving, we’re billions of dollars in debt, in 2 wars and several other “conflicts”, can’t get our govt to agree on how to pay the bills… yet ya’ll wanna send people to space? But Spongebob, they’re still looking for asteroids, they have plenty of things to detect something coming to earth. The only thing they’re not doing is sending out anymore space expeditions for the time being. And other countries are still doing it, so we aren’t losing out on anything. And NASA and JPL are still doing all their developing, planning and extra top secret high security ish behind the scenes

As Mitt Romney’s campaign seeks to humanize him in the eyes of prospective voters, one issue beyond his policy stances or his stump statements continues to follow him – his treatment of the family dog Seamus during a family vacation in 1983.

Criticism over Romney’s decision to place Seamus in a dog carrier and strap him to the top of the family’s car during a 12-hour drive to Canada has gone so far as to lead to the creation of a “super PAC” to raise awareness of the incident.

In an interview with Diane Sawyer, aired on ABC’s “World News With Diane Sawyer” and “Nightline” on Tuesday night, both Mitt and his wife, Ann, defended their treatment of Seamus.

“It was, to me, a kinder thing to bring him along than to leave him in the kennel for, in a kennel for two weeks,” Ann said.

When Sawyer brought up that Romney took Seamus down from the carrier when the dog fell ill to hose him down before putting him back up on top of the car again, Ann minimized the attention paid to the incident.

“We traveled all the time, and he ate the turkey on the counter. I mean, he had the runs. But he would see that crate and, you know, he would, like, go crazy, because he was going with us on vacation.”

The questions on Seamus’ treatment were prompted by a campaign led by the group “Dogs Against Romney,” which requested that its Facebook followers bombard ABC News with requests to ask Romney about it. Sawyer said that it was one of two issues that prompted the most requests from its audience, the other being Romney’s Mormon faith.

Romney, when asked whether he would repeat his actions during the family vacation, said he wouldn’t, “certainly not with the attention it’s received.”

In an interview with the Huffington Post, Scott Crider, the creator of Dogs Against Romney, showed no indication of being deterred by the candidate’s remarks.

“The pack wants answers and, honestly, we keep hoping the Romneys will begin to understand the cruelty and illegality of what they did to their dog. Sadly, the Romneys keep falling short,” he said

No joke.

Tupac, of course, died back in 1996, but he was introduced to a whole new generation of fans thanks to the wizards at Hollywood digital effects house Digital Domain.

The firm created a CGI version of the rapper performing on “Hail Mary” and “2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted,” technically not a 3-D hologram as has been widely reported. Then, with the help of a Victorian-era magician’s trick called Pepper’s Ghost that used angled reflectors to create the illusion that he was actually alive and on stage, video of the stunt hit the Internet and became a viral sensation by Monday.

Given that reception, reps for Dre and Snoop, old friends and collaborators of the hip-hopster, tell the Journal that the two are considering mounting an arena tour that would feature the dead entertainer in all his creepy virtual glory.

“This is just the beginning,” Digital Domain’s chief creative officer, Ed Ulbrich, told the paper. “Dre has a massive vision for this.”

Before the virtual MCs can hit the road, sources say there are a lot of technical issues that must be worked out and any number of those could derail the plans.

When I was married we were stationed in KY and the ex hubby was cheating on me. I found out but didn’t confront him. I just let him think that he was playing me. I found out where she worked and where she lived. I drove to her house one day and I could see him looking really nervous. I asked him if he thought that house was cute I was thinking about seeing who lived there to see if they wanted to rent it out. Scared the begeezus out of him. He just said, Naw it don’t look big enough. The heffa worked at Walmart and We went grocery shopping. I was putting so much stuff in my cart. He kept looking like what are you doing. He line was long but I insisted on waiting. We got to the front and after she rang everything up I told her I wanted to use her discount since she is sleeping with my husband. Bytch walked off and sent the manager back. I bet I got a serious discount. Manager was military also and ex hubby was in uniform. After I explained myself to the manager (who turned out to be close to hubby’s commanding officer) told me to call after the weekend. Hubby had to go to counseling!
