Pastor Marvin Winans, who spoke at Whitney Houston's funeral, was robbed and car jacked in Detroit this afternoon.
The shameful incident ocurred at a Citgo Gas Station at Linwood and Davison in Detroit. Winans, who was not seriously injured, said he went into the gas station to pay for his gas when he saw 10 young men milling around inside. "When I walked in I said this is not a good situation," Winans told a local ABC affiliate.
He said 4 of the young men followed him outside to the pump where he was assaulted by the youths who stole his purple Infiniti QX56 SUV with license plate 0DRT73.
Detroit Police are searching for the suspects. Winans, 54, suffered a cut on his hand and the youths ripped his pants off of him. "I was indecently exposed," said Winans, who described the incident as "quite savage."
Winans said he didn't think the youths knew who he was, "and if they did, it didn't make much difference."
"I'm not going to be afraid of us.. of our sons," he said.
