Jackson hospital releases first photos of face eating victim
Miami Jackson hospital released the first photos of Ronald Poppo, the homeless man whose face was savagely mauled last month.
Jackson released two photos showing Poppo walking with assistance.
In addition to having half of his face chewed off by Rudy Eugene, the so-called “Miami Zombie,” Poppo, 65, had two “mysterious” holes in his left chest that doctors say are entry and exit wounds consistent with gunshots.
Eugene was shot multiple times and killed by a Miami police officer who fired an initial shot that failed to stop Eugene’s brutal attack on Poppo.
Poppo is recovering surprisingly well. His left eye is gone, and his right eye is covered with a skin graft to protect his eye since his eyelids were apparently chewed off in the attack. Poppo may be blind in his right eye according to his doctors.

Poppo’s nose and his forehead and part of his upper lip are mangled, but the rest of his face below his nose was largely untouched.
“He’s coping remarkably well,” trauma surgeon Nicholas Namias told reporters.
“The guy has got to be a survivor.”
Doctors say Poppo was alert enough to cheer on the Miami Heat in the NBA Finals yesterday.
“He’s a very nice guy, really. He’s charming,” Namias added.

I can’t with things like that. I read Stephen King but that’s different to me. I’m only seeing that sht in my mind’s eye. That up there…No one outside of the medical community should see that.

I read they were asking for donations for his bills or surgery or both, I do believe. But yeah, Americans love gore, death and destruction……until it happens to them.
Not to be mean but, it’s not as bad as I thought it would be. I still feel bad for him though. That’s gonna be a hard recovery.

Sandra, I agree, he is healing well. I expected for him to look far worse at this point. Hope he continues to heal.
I actually don’t think the images look too bad, have you all seen the picture of his eaten face? That was disgusting.
Luckily for him, he is now blind.

Thats not being mean @Dimpz. I share your same sentiments. It actually looks like with a couple of surgeries and some cocoa butter/proper wound care, he gone be partially alright. THIS doesn’t bother me. I see body parts, pieces of skin, insides, legs, arms, tits, etc. on the REGULAR, so THIS chit right here? Not a prollem.
