Quincy Jones says Sean Combs doesn’t know Diddy squat about music
Well-respected music producer Quincy Jones joins the long list of people wondering why rapper Sean Combs is still relevant musically.
“P. Diddy wouldn’t know a B-flat” if it hit him in the face, said Jones to singer Bruno Mars at an event to launch a new music app on Tuesday. “P. Diddy has a doctorate in marketing. He’s got clothes companies and Ciroc vodka,” said Jones after telling the audience to “learn your craft.”
Most so-called “producers” actually depend on real producers who create the music but see the credit go to the bigger name producer, such as Sean Combs.
Case in point: An unknown Stevie J languished behind the mixing boards in the studio crafting music for Puff Daddy, who then took all the credit in the 1990s.
Other producers who took credit for other people’s work include Dallas Austin and Jermaine Durpri. Which explains why they can’t buy a hit today.

Quincy being the man behind THE biggest selling album of all times Thriller has every right to speak his opinion.
Quincy comes from a time when music was created and not sampled. I remember Khandi was on RHWOA and said she had never recorded with live instruments before yet she has won numerous grammy’s. There was a time when music was only recorded with a live band.
That’s why music from the 50,60,70 and 80 still get played/sampled today.

Oh and Quincy said the same thing about Kanye a few years back when someone tried to compare the two.
I still find that comparison funny.
Quincy can add the rest of today’s “artists” to that list as well. How can you be a musician and not even play an instrument. Makes no sense.
Sean was doing what businessmen have been doing for years…taking credit for what their EMPLOYEES do…shoot back in Quincy’s days people got screwed over as well, see Berry Gordy and Motown

We all know Sean Combs is a buffoon. He had an all star bad boy roster back in the day and his people were putting out mad hits. Now he cant buy a hit…. But he is one helluva business man tho, cant front on him bout that!
I think Kanye is incredible, musically. Diddy? Not so much.

The U.S. Supreme Court upheld the core of President Barack Obama’s health-care overhaul, giving him an election-year triumph and preserving most of a law that would expand insurance to millions of people and transform an industry that makes up 18 percent of the nation’s economy.
The justices, voting 5-4, said Congress has the power to make Americans carry insurance or pay a penalty. That requirement is at the core of the law, which also forces insurers to cover people with pre-existing health conditions. The court limited the law’s extension of the Medicaid program for the poor by saying the federal government can’t threaten to withhold money from states that don’t fully comply.
