Jeremy Lin Heads Back to the Houston Rockets
“Linsanity” is over — at least in New York City where it all started with a bang back in February.
Jeremy Lin, the Asian sensation who lit up the NBA coming off the bench for the Knicks, is now a Houston Rocket. The Knicks passed on Lin before the Tuesday deadline rather than match the staggering $25 million offer sheet from the Rockets.
Sports purists say Lin isn’t worth $25 million, which includes a balloon payment of $15 million in the 3rd year of his contract.
Ironically, Houston dumped Lin before the start of last season. Many Red Nation fans don’t ever remember him in a Rockets uniform. Lin was claimed off waivers by the Knicks in December — and given a bargain basement salary of $600,000.

This is a strange move by the Rockets. They already had 2 proven PGs (Kyle Lowry and Goran Dragic) that were better than Lin but they let them go. Maybe they’re more interested in Lin’s marketing potential.
Whatever the case, I wish Lin much success as a Houston Rocket.

I understand securing your future and making money but Lin would have been able to get more than $24-$25 million in New York with both his pay AND endorsement deals.
I personally think that he will fade away when he gets to Houston. Who do they have? They were trying to get Dwight Howard but we all know that ain’t happening.
Lin is NOT worth paying $15 million during that third year

Melo didn’t want him there because they were winning without CArmelo and with Lin.
As soon as Melo came back they took a nose dive….Melo is the problem and not Lin.

I agree somewhat. It did help that they were playing a weak stretch in their schedule excluding the Laker win when Lin was going off. Like most sports though, once you’re not catching teams off guard being brand new and they get enough of a sample of your game they can gameplan for you and expose your flaws. Like when they played the Heat.

I’m so excited for Jeremy. People are forgetting what he did that got him to this point. He wasn’t a star on the bench and he wasn’t a star for the few minutes of playing time that he got before he was given a real chance to show them what he’s working with. He got here, because he showed and proved game after game after game after game. Is it even possible to be a fluke for 25 games straight? Whatever the case, Carmelo’s return shut down his game so he needed to get away from him for his own good. I hope Houston puts the time into helping him develope his game and not only will he bring in marketing dollars, but he will bring in wins if he has decent people around him. I’m really looking forward to seeing what will happen with him. We already know how the Knicks will fair with their two 24 million dollar boys.

Only since March? Wow, how time doesn’t fly. I think she wants to get married to get prove she’s stable enough to have full custody, and to get out of The State.
