A registered sex offender who attacked a boy inside a Portland restaurant restroom is HIV positive, according to a FOX News report.

The suspect, Adam Lee Brown, was on parole after serving 11 years of a 15-year sentence for trying to infect young boys with HIV in 1992. Despite his HIV status — and his reckless disregard for children — he was ordered to register as a sex offender after his release.

Brown was arrested Sunday after he dragged a 10-year-old boy into a Wendy’s restroom, locked the door and stabbed the boy repeatedly when he fought back.

The child screamed in pain as his father attempted to gain entry into the barricaded bathroom. A Wendy’s employee managed to get the door open, and Brown shoved the boy out but locked himself inside.

Police say the injuries to the unidentified 10-year-old were severe enough to require surgery.

Brown was taken into custody after a two-hour standoff.

At least nine children in the small logging town of Roseburg told police that Brown molested them over the course of several months in 1992.

Brown’s wife at the time, Nancy, told the Associated Press that Brown, a former Marine, contracted the HIV virus while stationed in Southern California.

A lay preacher at a small community church, Brown served nine years in the Marines as a computer technician before his discharge in the early 1990s.

“God was always in the picture,” Nancy Brown said about her husband’s religious upbringing. “But he thought Satan would deliver the boys.”
