Source: Tom Cruise chose his religion over his daughter Suri
According to former Church of Scientology members, actor Tom Cruise settled the divorce quickly with Katie Holmes in order to protect his cult from negative press.
Steven Hassan, a cult expert, told The NY Post, “(Church leader) David Miscavige dictated Tom’s divorce deal. Scientology wanted a gag order as soon as possible to stop further negative information coming out. They would have agreed to allow Katie to raise Suri as a Catholic, as long as she doesn’t say anything bad about Scientology to Suri or the public.”
Miscavige, 52, is Cruise’s best friend and was the actor’s best man when he married Holmes in Italy in 2005, reports the NY Post. The newlyweds honeymooned on Miscavige’s yacht.
Marty Rathbun, a former high ranking Scientologist who worked with Tom Cruise, said, “Yes, I think that Tom Cruise chose his religion over his daughter Suri, and I also think that (Church leader) David Miscavige pressured Cruise to settle the divorce quickly,” RadarOnline reported.
Rathbun added: “They are paying to get Scientology Inc. out of the news.”

Miscavige’s reps deny she’s missing, or that she wanted to leave the cult. She was last seen in public in 2007.
Holmes will reportedly walk away from the 5-year marriage with $50 million dollars.

I think another reason the settlement happended so quickly, is because Katie has been living in New York for 2 yrs. In New York there is not a 50/50 shared custody, Tom tried to be slick, and filed in California, which is a 50/50 State. Katie beat him in filing.

Paying off your credit card bill can be hard at the best of times.
But one California man has taken clearing his debts to a new level after he tried to clear a $6,500 debt with 650,000 pennies.
Thirry Chahez, who runs a cake shop, loaded the crates of coins in to the back of his van and drove to a local Chase Bank in an attempt to pay his credit card bill that was due on Monday.
But despite his best efforts, the bank refused to accept the payment and asked Mr Chahez to package them into more manageable individual coin rolls.
Accepting the request, Mr Chahez was shocked when the bank would not accept the re-packaged payment either
‘I brought them back, and now they’re rolled and they still don’t want them,’ Mr Chahez said.
‘Do my pennies stink?’
He said, he has tried to make the payment for days at several different branches
‘Money’s money isn’t it,’ he added.
‘Different time, different branches, and they all send me away and have a very bad attitude.’
Eventually Mr Chahez managed to deposit the money and pay off his debt after being sent to a branch with a bigger vault.
Mr Chahez says he undertook the drastic measure as he was upset with his bank over a refinance he could not get and other charges and fees on his credit card.

Sorry Katie is not getting anything much financially from the divorce. Tom has an iron clad prenup and if Nicole barely got anything after 9 years, Katie is not getting the bulk of what he made the past year. Tom and Scientology do not play with his money.
Also she’s eventually going to loose the Suri battle. Tom basically a nurse maid to raise his child until teenage years just like he did with the first two. Nicole raised those two and as soon as they were teenagers he got them under his graps and now they barely communicate with her. Tom is going to “buy” Suri when she gets old enough so that she can be under his wing – men like that dont give up easily
