Sports: Soccer star loses $750,000 Coke deal for drinking Pepsi
All soccer superstar Ronaldinho wanted to do was quench his thirst when he sipped from a can of Pepsi during a press conference. But that seemingly innocuous gesture revived a longstanding feud between soft drink giants Coco Cola and Pepsi.
According to The Atlanta Journal Constitution, the Atlanta-based Coke reacted to Ronaldinho’s two-timing by yanking the Brazilian star’s lucrative $750,000 sponsorship. That’ll teach him to be faithful.
“The fact that the player has appeared with a can of Pepsi was the straw that broke the camel’s back,” Coca-Cola marketing chief Marcelo Pontes told the newspaper. “The sponsorship had become embarrassing.”
The press conference was held to promote his new team, Atletico Mineiro, of which Pepsi is a sponsor. Coke’s $750,000 sponsorship deal with Ronaldinho was scheduled to run through 2014.

I just stick to whats true and tried and I’ve been pretty lucky #knocksonwood the one new product I have is whip – and that is a staple Im glad to have found but before then its oil sheen and pink hair lotion, in the summer its wet and go using whip as a moisturizer and my oil sheen – sometimes imo less is more…

Thats great you have found what works for your hair! A lot of going natural has to do with finding what works with your new texture. Many of us had been relaxed for 10+ years and that changes things about the scalp and hair. Its chemicals. It takes time to learn what you like..but I think it was Diva who said yestewrday when she was natural she had certain products, now that she is relaxed again different ones.
Pink lotion works for you, but my hair is prone to dryness the mineral oil and petroleum in Pink Oil is a dry hair no no. It would BLOCK moisture from entering my hair.

Yeah I have really thick hair (4a type) that is prone to dryness. I have this shea butter thing that I made that works so well. When I tried to do a twist out with the whip only, when it dried, it was fuzzy and lacked definition. I do like using the whip on my edges and scalp though

@OTB: the curls unleashed curling jelly is awesome for my rod sets and twist outs. Keeps them fresh for about a week which is epic for my hair
Hair Rules I use their daily cleansing no suds shampoo and their quench conditioner. I also use their leave in conditioner and hydrating finishing cream. I’ve had good results with all of them. My hair is so much more manageable after conditioning.

I do that now because I dont want to expose my hair to elements until I reach my goal. I wear it wrapped or puffed on weekends. I dont wear weaves because I like to wash my hair a lot.

Right…your hair. Which would be entirely different from another head. My hair would shrivel and die if I put pink oil on it. Heavy greasy but still dry…just because something shines doesnt mean its moisturized. Oil sheen would also be a no. There are some natural oils in some oil sheens but most of it is mineral oil and fragrance.
Kita is a great example her hair has a natural sheen that straight pops with whip, a natural product that not weighing her down with artificials.
I feel you Choco but, i’ve only been natural and wearing my hair out for like 3mos now. I’m trying to see what works best with it. I’ve had a relaxer since I was 12. I’m still learning “my” hair.

We use the kiwi clarifying poo after swimming and I use their moisturizing conditioners mixed with water in spray bottles for my girls or to pad my conditioner mixes.

I use very little of every product I’ve mentioned – in fact I’ve used pink in like a month becuz I ran out but I was using it before the whip and I was okay the whip has certainly enhanced my hair…. And I understand not everyone can use pink hair lotion but a few of us can…

Nope not if its working for you! Im an ingredient snob cause I wanna keep the hair I grow and be at WL in the fastest time without cuts and such! I gave myself 5 years! And remember my hair has like 80% shrinkage so if I dont grow at least that long my hair will still look shorter than I would like at BSL. Im APL and I feel bald headed sometimes!
What I do suggest is looking at the stuff in the products and figuring out which of those ingredients your hair is loving. I can promise you it aint that damn mineral oil
but it might be a fatty alcohol or a certain conditioner in it.
The way your hair grows you will be at APL in no time! You are great at retaining length and keeping it moisturized!
I don’t know about clarifying products I don’t get that deep I wash my hair and moisturize sometimes depending on the time of year I will put EVOO Extra Virgin Olive Oil in it and on my skin

But youre curls are lengthing the longer your hair gets! I think yours will be more like Bey’s (sorry!) than a tighter pattern like corrine bailey ray..but you have so much hair

Maybe its the cones! Google the product so we can see which cones and what they do. Cones do different things like you can have different kinds of proteins (soy, wheat, silk, keratin, hydrogylzed, etc) that have different affects on the hair. That is why some say protein sensitivity is a “myth”. They believe you have to find which protein agrees with your hair. I dont know how I feel about that yet. Still experimenting.
@ Shaun…I saw a chick on YouTube slather what looked like half a bottle of EVOO on her hair.
I’m sure my curls would pop if I did that too. I said she better try like hell to avoid too much sun or matches. 
OTB what’s your hair type? I have hella shrinkage too so its a bytch trying to see length.
It looks like the conditioner is the issue. It has Mineral oil AND petroleum. I’mma hafta find something else. *sigh*

For the spray bottle, its like your pink oil, a “moisturizer” of sorts..so I can detangle their hair with it or they can spray it on their hair as a refresher. Rosewater or tap for them chirrens cause they wasteful plus a tablespoon or so of olive oil.
Laymen terms
Say there a “3 levels of clean”, regular, deep, and extra strangth..the x-strength would be a clarifying shampoo. Its strips your hair of all the products and minerals and buildup that has accumulated. I have hard water so i use one twice a month. Hair water can make your hair dingy looking.
If you clean, clean your hair once a month it’ll perform at its best. Get the kiwi V05 shampoo and use it then proceed with what you normally do and see how your hair reacts to the conditioners and products after you start with your clean slate.
Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate <—yucky! sulfate found in dish detergent, super stripping.
Behentrimonium Methosulfate<—yay! conditioning detangling dream!
Cetearyl Alcohol<–yay! softener!
All those lower ingredients look delish..natural loves..the fragrance sucks but alas thats in almost everything. Remeber the higher something is on the list the more is in the product. Vitamin E

OTB: I hard Anything with alcohol strips the hair of its moisture and the closer it is to the beginning of the ingredient list the more it is in volume in the product. Your thoughts?
Do you do steam treatments? What are your thoughts on shea moisutre products? I used to use them but it made my hair brittle.
Olive oil has a low smoke point so hopefully she’ll be okay?

@Gigi I have 4a, 4b, and 4z patterns. LOL When I first chopped I looked straight afro hair..like nigerian
but as it grew longer I saw the curls and coils in addition to kinks.
Some of my hair spirals some o fit is shaped like the #5 and the shorter strands just growing in stand up straight! For shame.

Nexxus Humectress
One of my holy grail conditioners. I bought the real thing twice, then was turned on to the generic at Sally’s.
So thats what i buy now.
I use that on the relaxed and natural hair in the house. Moisture city! Its also a reason why I use the clarfying poos on us too cause its full of cones and while cones can make the hair feel nice, i def. believe in removing them periodically.

Gigi there are good alcohols and bad alcohols for the hair. It took me a while to come to terms with that
Basically curly/kinkys wanna watch out for “short-chain alcohols”, and not so worried about the fatty alcohols, benzyl alcohol or proplyene glycol.
I dont steam much. I suppose I would more if I had that 100 dollar machine but I have done some steams. I felt like my hair was softer but I have fine hair and I dont want it to be too soft (breakage would set in).
Shea Moisture: I cant figure out the rhyme or reason with them. But generally I like it. I have found that its a crap shoot with them for different heads of hair but I also believe folks dont use products the right ways initailly and then blame the product for a bad outcome. Thats why I say try 3xs, 3 ways. Then discard if no go or mix it in others till all gone.
I like the (from the shea set) restorative leave in, the deep cleaning poo, the anti breakage mask (I like the whole green label line, fine hair dream)
i bought the recon elixir twice but its just the same oils i have in my cabinet. I love to mix the purification masque with my ayurvedic herbs. That chit is love!

Some ppl say you should try to use a poo and condish from the same line. I think nexxus has sulfates in the poo too but I think you moisturize enough to combat any dryness that would result especially adding in their conditioner.
i would use my other stuff till gone tho or on the kids
@ GiGi..I used to use the Shea Moisture Smoothie. It’s a lil heavy though.
@ Shaun…Keraphix is a reconstructor. If you use the 3 together,Hair is soooooooooooooooo soft but, I just found out it has mineral oil in it.
Kita its hard to avoid mineral oil in the older established lines but it wont kill you in low amounts. if you like that combo I would use it!
Im cautious with my protein simply cause I dont “do” my hair so its not suffering from cuticle layers being run thru. But once I go to more heat and wearing it out more (ha!) I will be uppig my protein.
Imma try that on combo on Nani’s hair. She is a bone straight relaxed. Lei is texturized.
@ Shaun…I’m gonna use the rest of my Dr. Miracle and switch to the GVP version of Nexxus then. They don’t have Keraphix but, they do have a knockoff of Joico K-Pak, which I used before and it worked great.
I think it would work on both of them honestly. It’s really light weight and works wonders. I have literally KILT my hair with a hair color before. I’m talking drastic shedding from light combing and brushing type damage. I started doing a SuperPak once a week and wearing fingerwaves and scrunches and only relaxed my hair once every 4mos. Results were marvelous dahling.
