Study: Spanking your child may lead to mental illness
Spanking is a longstanding custom in many cultures. But a new study shows that the destructive effects of spanking may lead to mental illness in children.

A new study published in Monday’s Journal of the American Academy Of Pediatrics found that children who are spanked are at a higher risk for developing mental problems.
The study surveyed 35,000 people, and found that 2 to 7 percent of mental disorders are linked to physical punishment.
The author says the study is evidence physical punishment shouldn’t ever be used on any child. The debate is still ongoing, however, because some people still maintain spanking can be effective if done correctly.

You can find a scientist to make a logical argument for anything. I know plenty of people who received non abusive corporal punishment who are fine mentally. I will agree that it leads to a propensity for violence, but not crazy.

This is another way to let the young adults run a muck just because – in all honesty there are a lot of teens out here now that should’ve had their azzes beat! Especially the ones who turn around and kill their parents, siblings, and own offspring – PUHLEEZE!
Man if they don’t go sit down somewhere with this. People with the right amount of $$ can make these “researchers and scientists” say anything!!
I understand corporal punishment is not the only effective means of training your child. But whatever a parent decides to do with their child to make sure that they are a productive member of society I am for it. Hell there are too many parents today not raising their children and we see what that leads to….*cough*Chief Keef*cough*
You don’t have to get physical with every child. Some children can be talked to and they straighten up. However for those that don’t I think it’s best for the parents and other responsible family members to do it rather than the cops having to do it later on in life. Many of these so-called research are garbage. Money talks, they’d say anything.
