Woman says she was raped by strippers at gay club
A woman says she was raped by two male strippers at a northwest Atlanta gay strip club.
According to Channel 2 Action news, citing a police report, the incident occurred in June in a VIP room at Swinging Richard’s gay strip club on Northside Drive.
“We wish we would’ve got it the very next day,” APD Major Crimes Commander Darryl Tolleson told wsbtv.com.
Tolleson told Channel 2’s Mark Winne that delays have not hurt the investigation. After a judge initially denied a court order, Tolleson said the club voluntarily gave police access to what they wanted on July 3 and Tuesday.
Tolleson told wsbtv the unidentified victim’s memory may have been impaired by alcohol, but the key evidence may turn out to be DNA, which could take months to process.
“We don’t want to send the message out that by you drinking, it’s your fault. It’s absolutely not,” Tolleson said. The club is also conducting its own investigation, wsbtv reports.

George Zimmerman filed a motion Friday asking that Circuit Judge Ken Lester be disqualified from the case.
Zimmerman says Lester’s comments in a bond order led him to believe Lester is prejudiced against him. The judge said in the order that Zimmerman and his wife misled him about their finances.
Zimmerman also says he can’t get a fair trial with Lester presiding over the case.
Zimmerman is charged with second-degree murder. He has pleaded not guilty, claiming self-defense.
Zimmerman asked for a new judge after he was charged in April, claiming there was a potential conflict of interest with the judge.
His request was granted and the case was turned over to Lester.
