New York doesn’t like Lil Wayne
New York mayor hopeful Malcolm Smith took offense to rapper Lil Wayne saying he didn’t like New York. Wayne, 29, made the snarky remark in a MTV interview that was published on MTV.com.
Smith spoke out in defense of the Big Apple, according to Page Six.
“I take strong exception to the words ‘I don’t like New York,’ ” said the ex-Senate majority leader in a Times Square news conference yesterday.
Smith continued: “If you don’t like New York, you don’t have to come to New York, you don’t have to sell your products here, and perhaps we won’t come to your concerts.”
Mr. Smith should take care to remember that this great country was founded on the principles that even a gremlin has the right to express his opinions.

I can dig it…and if i was a radio DJ @ a NYC radio station i wouldnt spin his music no more or any radio station that is in the Manhatan. this would includes video shows like 106 & Park and others like FUSE, MTV that play all his videos which is located uptown in Manhanttan. NY have nothing but love for Lil Wayne but if you dont like the city then i agree, don’t come to perform or to promote where you really dont want to be. I take it not likeing the city means you dont want to be there unless one have to.
He was locked up @ Rikers Island which sits on the water in Queens New York. I wouldnt like that part of New York either. But yeah it’s a freedom of speech.
