An emotional Robin Roberts thanks her fans for the love
“Good Morning America” Anchor Robin Roberts thanked her GMA fans for their outpouring of love and get-well wishes. “Your thoughts. Thoughts are so powerful,” said an emotional Roberts in a video blog that aired on GMA Thursday. “You’ve got to change the way you think in order to change the way you feel. And let me just say this lastly, I feel the love and I thank you for it. Thank you,” she said.
Roberts, 51, has been in a New York hospital for 11 days. She has completed 8 days of chemotherapy (IV) infusions in preparation for a bone marrow transplant to treat myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS), a rare blood disorder similar to blood cancer (leukemia).
Roberts is undergoing the chemotherapy treatments to destroy her immune system so her body won’t fight the new bone marrow transplant. Medical staff entering Roberts’ hospital room must wear protective gear including a mask and gloves to protect her from ordinary everyday germs that could kill her.
Many transplant recipients refer to the day of their transplant as their new birthday.
So on her new birthday, Robin has a message for all of us: “This journey is as much about the mind as it is the body,” she said, in a video blog that aired on “GMA” today.

I just found out my sister in law at age 25 has been diagnosed with breast cancer a rare one that only affects women age 50 and older. We also just found out that she has known since May, however they turned her away because she did not have insurance. She applied for some type of grant that was just approved for this September, yet the cancer has spread to other parts of her breast.
Please vote folks it’s real out here and there is NO compassion for the sick anytime you can turn away a 25 year old mother of a 4 year away it breaks my heart, the fact that you can turn ANYBODY away breaks my heart.
sorry for the post but even though I don’t comment alot on here you guys stories/jokes get me thru bad work days. Milky and Luvin I pray for you guys strength and His I have sent prayers up for your father as well, even though we don’t know each other we are all connected.

I have a nephew that was considered a “problem” child but when my brother would get to the school for his suspension the teacher and the officer would say he got suspended for not paying attention and they were tired of talking to him. I never knew kids could get suspended and sent to the officer for talking. so your information I passed along to my brother and like you said knowledge is power!

I knew two kids who passed from brain cancer, one was 12, the other one 4. The things chemo did to them, I truly believe that it was that that killed them and not the cancer itself

Yes, it will!!! I don’t talk about this because I guess I am still in denial. My Mom was diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia 2 years ago. She did chemo and it made her sick and caused some other problems. Mom is a trooper and goes to work everyday!!! She now has to take insulin for her diabetes. So I know how that chemo does a person first hand. She hasn’t had to have chemo treatments in a year because the cancer is in remission. God is good I tell you because he blessed me with a strong mother in fact a fighting mother!!! let me stop now cause the tears are about to fall. I thank God for my Mom.

the Problem w/the chemo is theres Noway for the medicine to filter/decipher what cells its killing wether it be bad cells or good.When Ones already Far along in the stages of Cancer it kills em quicker because they dont have enough good cells to reproduce the chemo kills

Dr.’s office due my 39yr old cuzn(female) was diagnosed w/Rectal Cancer. She was told that Medicare/Medicaid does not cover chemo treatments for this particular type of cancer..I was like

A little boy in Florida died because of a bad tooth (parents too poor). Our state is going thru the motions now trying to get dentists to cover just the basic stuff WITH medicaid. A lot of them refuse. There are 2 dentist in this town of 100k+ that take medicaid.
Dental insurance is the biggest bite outta my pay.

There is this scientist who I seen on nightly news awhile back;His wife has Cancer,He’s working hard to find away to give the chemo so that it only kills the bad cells.It was very Interesting.
I cant really recall his procedure,However it was something to do with some type of oil that would fill in/block/or put a film around the good cells or something.

This is probably true, she has to find a doc that accepts medicare. Reason why Obama care is so important. While living in VA, one of my nurses was telling me that VA has no state aid for those that ESRD. So if you have no money, no job, no insurance. You should basically go in a corner and die. It really depends on what state you live in. I hope and pray for your cousin, what stage is she in.

Down here in So.Fla they do a dental clinic every year in feb,Dentist volunteer their time and donate out of their own pockets for the program..
In 2009 i Volunteered to help register folks…man people were coming from So Far way North Fla to Homestead.it was just a shame.

Well yall chemotherapy gave my Mother ten more years of life. If it hadn't she would've past when I was 8 instead of when I was 18. Good and bad, I guess.
While I do not have everything that I think I need/want/should have etc. I am ALWAYS grateful for my HEALTH. In the last 5yrs I have had several minor health issues and it humbled me to be GRATEFUL for the things that money can’t buy.

We had a program and they stopped..a little boy died after being sedated.
The closest you can get now is the UF dental clinic. They use students so the cost is considerably lower. The line be around the building every single day. You’ll see folks moaning, groaning, just wincing in pain and they get turned away too. Not enough time or students.

My sons make this face eerily similar to that (I hate it!)..they got it from some TV show. Imma have to ask him what show. 
But anytime I say something they dont wanna here or if they just being turds they make the face..just like the dog!

Dr.’s office due my 39yr old cuzn(female) was diagnosed w/Rectal Cancer. She was told that Medicare/Medicaid does not cover chemo treatments for this particular type of cancer..I was like well y she on Medicare??
I tried helping her to dr visit’s & get’n set up on short term disabilty, etc both of my parents died from cancer so im compassionate when it come to that chit. But when I tell you im not wasting my time helping somebody who don’t wants to help themselves..all i do is keep her in constant prayer..when you know better u do better.

This is probably true, she has to find a doc that accepts medicare. Reason why Obama care is so important. While living in VA, one of my nurses was telling me that VA has no state aid for those that ESRD. So if you have no money, no job, no insurance. You should basically go in a corner and die. It really depends on what state you live in. I hope and pray for your cousin, what stage is she in
