Obama and housefly

A common housefly tormented President Obama for the entire time he spoke in the State Dining Room of the White House in Washington on Thursday (Jan. 24).

Maybe the housefly was exacting revenge on Obama for flattening its cousin during an interview in 2009.

Then there was that time in 2010 when a swarm of flies attacked Obama’s face causing him to halt a local news interview.

Apparently the industrial strength pesticides that the Obama administration have been using isn’t doing the job.

Starter Wives

Last night, TLC hosted a meet & greet and press screening of their upcoming docu-series about famous ex-wives titled “Starter Wives Confidential” at the INC Lounge in Times Square, NY.

I’m assuming “docu-series” is another term for reality show? The networks are backpedaling quickly away from the reality show label due to its ghetto connotations.

Manti Teo Ronaiah Tuiasosopo Katie Couric

Deadspin.com just posted audio of voice mails left by alleged hoaxer Ronaiah Tuiasosopo on the cell phone of Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te’o.

In the audio, Tuiasosopo (picture inset) is pretending to be Manti Te’o’s girlfriend, Lennay Kekua — 2 days before she supposedly “died” of leukemia.

If you haven’t been following this bizarre story, click here.

The NY Daily News reported this morning that Tuiasosopo’s attorney admitted his client “disguised his voice” as a woman in order to fool Te’o for 3 years.

Sidney Ackerman fake profile

“Catfish’ or ‘Catfished’ are terms used to describe people who become emotionally attached to fake social media profiles. Oftentimes the person who runs the social media account is not who they claim to be.

People who get emotionally attached to fake online profile’s — or to online profiles in general — usually have some form of emotional or personality defect that allows them to become victims so easily.

Luckily, that was not the case with four unnamed NFL players who were almost ‘Catfished’ by @RedRidnH00d, a woman (or man) on Twitter.com, who used pictures of an Internet adult entertainer, C.J. Miles, to seduce the athletes into establishing a rapport with her.

Papa Johns pizza

A thief with a conscience broke down crying while robbing a Papa Johns pizzeria in Montana, the NY Post reports. After speaking with the cashier, the robber left with a pizza and chicken wings to feed his hungry family.

“I’d say the clerk was pretty astute,” Helena Police Chief Troy McGee said. “I mean, he knows how to talk to this person. Kind of commiserated with him a little. Talked to him about it and you know actually changed his mind about robbing the place. That was pretty good.”

Aretha Franklin Jennifer Lopez Reuters

When word spread that Karaoke singer Beyonce wasn’t singing live during President Obama’s 2nd Inauguration, the blogosphere erupted in laughter and ridicule.

But surprisingly, one of the first people to jump to her defense was Soul legend Aretha Franklin, who said:

“I thought it was funny because the weather down there was about 46 or 44 degrees and for most singers that is just not good singing weather…” she told ABC News. “When I heard that I just really cracked up. I thought it was really funny, but she did a beautiful job with the pre-record.”

New York Post Beyonce Jay Z Peter King

This will sting Jay Z’s already bruised ego:

Rep. Pete King was snapping photos of the stars at Monday’s Inauguration – and wound up on the cover of the New York Post. The headline: “First Couple! (Well, almost) Pols fawn over Beyoncé, Jay-Z at Inaugural.”

In King’s defense, that’s only half true. The congressman tweeted Tuesday that while he recognized Beyoncé, who sang the National Anthem, he didn’t know “the guy” beside her.

    Manti Teo Katie Couric interview

Former Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te’o told Katie Couric he “briefly” lied about his dead girlfriend even after he learned she didn’t exist.

“Katie, put yourself in my situation,” he said, “I, my whole world told me that she died on Sept. 12. Everybody knew that. This girl, who I committed myself to, died on Sept. 12.”

But his girlfriend, Lennay Kekua, did not exist. It was all a hoax.

Katie Couric’s full interview with Te’o will air on Thursday (check your local listings for the station and time). It should be noted that both Couric and Te’o have the same agent.
