Celebs Out & About: Robin Roberts, Jim Jones
GMA anchor Robin Roberts was all smiles on her first day back on the set since August. Roberts, 52, arrived at the ABC studios at 5 a.m. and sat at her desk in the middle of Times Square. A small crowd of well wishers were there with homemade signs to welcome Roberts back.
“Hi, it’s Robin, and I’ve been waiting 174 days to say this: Good morning, America!” she said. “I am so full of gratitude. I share this morning, this day of celebration, with everyone.”
President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama welcomed Roberts back in a pre-taped video.
“You’ve been an inspiration to all of us and we couldn’t be happier doing what you do best,” said the president. “It’s great to see you back in that chair and we’re all excited to start our morning with you once again.”
Mrs. Obama added: “We just want you to know that the whole Obama family – we’ve been thinking about you and praying for you and rooting for you every step of the way.”
Rapper Jim Jones was spotted at JFK airport in NYC after being released from jail on minor traffic charges following an altercation with police last Wednesday (Feb. 13). Police say Jones, 37, interfered with a vehicle that was being ticketed and towed (or repossessed). Jones was seen rocking a Louis Vuitton Camouflage Keepall bag, which retails for $1,500-$1,930, and matching luggage and a Louis Vuitton Michael Damier graphite backpack ($2,050).

I don’t need Robyn to come out. She good right where she at. I’m sure her family knows why she isn’t married…..I also don’t need Robyn to stay home. I worked for the phone company through college, my manager had breast cancer, worked ALL the TIME. Coming after treatments and all. She LOVED her work, I think it gave her the sense of a normal life she needed and the strength to fight it. Not everyone is miserable at work.

Off topic..b/c I spoke on Robin’s Greatness yesterday…WHHHHHHHHHY the week before the SS Feces Carnival cruise thing happened…I had contacted them about a grad present cruise for me and 17yo…and NOW they azzes is STALKING me HARD tryna get me to “herry up and BUY”
now that they azzes about to get sued to smithereens by them 4k passengers.
They just emailed me and then called tryna give me a cruise for $319 each for 5 days.
Almost the exact same cruise was $479 for 3 days… two weeks ago.

New Birth Missionary Baptist Church members lost over $1 million dollars in their investments, and they now hold Pastor Bend Over And Let Me See It responsible for their decision.
“If Bishop Eddie Long hadn’t endorsed this they wouldn’t have invested,” said Jason Doss, attorney representing the former members.
A dozen former members of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Lithonia, Ga., filed suit in DeKalb County court in late January. The suit says that Long’s assistant had been warned that businessman Ephren W. Taylor was running a $3 million capital deficit, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.
After Long introduced the businessman as his “friend,” the former New Birth members lost more than $1 million investing with the self-described “social capitalist.”
“If Bishop Eddie Long hadn’t endorsed this they wouldn’t have invested,” Jason Doss, attorney for the former members, told the Journal-Constitution.
Long’s church has urged Taylor to repay investors with interest.
“We remain hopeful that Ephren Taylor and companies related to him restore the funds that were taken from congregants at New Birth and churches around the county,” New Birth said in a statement. “We continue to cooperate as the case proceeds.”
The Securities and Exchange Commission charged Taylor in 2012 with running a Ponzi scheme, and a civil case against him is pending. SEC officials said he promised to use investments for charity and to help economically challenged areas but instead diverted the funds he received after speaking to churches, including New Birth, to pay other investors and finance business and personal expenses.
“He preyed upon investors’ faith and their desire to help others, convincing them that they could earn healthy returns while also helping their communities,” said David Woodcock, director of the SEC’s Fort Worth Regional Office in Texas.
