Kim Kardashian vampire blood facial

Shameless attention-seeker Kim Kardashian gives herself something called a “vampire filler blood facial” during an upcoming episode of her reality TV show. Kim’s reality show is tanking in the ratings thanks to other reality shows with much better content.

So, with cameras trailing her, Kardashian visits a clinic which specializes in the so-called vampire blood facial procedure.

A doctor and nurse supposedly draws blood from Kim’s arm for the procedure using a large syringe and a large bore needle, which would have been very painful for Kim.

Questions: Why does it take 3 people to draw her blood?

Why is Kim’s friend, Jonathan Cheban, holding the needle in Kim’s arm?

And why are the nurse’s hands obscuring the syringe and the tubing from our view?

By the way, the syringe is dripping “blood” onto Kardashian’s arm. This looks more like a back-alley procedure than a procedure being performed in a doctor’s office.

Obviously the sterility of the tubing and syringe are compromised if the setup is dripping blood, right? Wouldn’t a real doctor or nurse know better than that?

Then there is the “blood” itself, which is described in the episode as “plasma”. The “doctor” shows the tube of blood being spun down in a centrifuge which separates out the red blood cells from the platelets (white blood cells), and the plasma (the yellow-tinged, salty solution in our blood).

So if the red blood cells are separated from the plasma — and just the plasma is being used on Kardashian’s face — why do we see red “blood” on her face? In a real blood facial procedure, the patient’s blood (or plasma) is clear.

Obviously, the fake blood is red for dramatic effect — and to boost TV ratings.

Fake, fake, fake. Kim really needs to do better.
