Nine-year-old Justice Williams (pictured center) was found hanging in the bathroom of her Bronx, N. Y., home on Sunday night; she reportedly committed suicide after she repeatedly told relatives she wanted to die and had problems adjusting to the birth of her half-brother. The fourth grader had actually been undergoing therapy after she revealed her death wish to her mother and stepfather as soon as she found out about the pregnancy. Her mom had the baby eight months ago. Such a sad story.

That poor baby!!! Who what would put a notion in her head like that??! The devil is working in our babies. At least she told her parents so they can try to help. I pray to the lord above we wont have to experience this.

I’m 8 years older than my baby sister and I swear I hated her when she was born because of all the attention she was getting. Never did I think of killing myself or harming my baby sis. I did pick at her though when she got older. :D

Williams’ mother, Tamiqua Torres, 31 (pictured left), made the grizzly discovery when she went to check on why her daughter was taking so long in the shower. Upon entering the bathroom, Torres found her little girl with a white cloth strung around her neck and dangling from the metal shower door frame. Williams was taken to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced dead 12 minutes after she arrived.

The fourth grader had actually been undergoing therapy after she revealed her death wish to her mother and stepfather as soon as she found out about the pregnancy. Williams then reportedly could not cope with the birth of her half-sibling. Torres had the baby eight months ago with her husband.

According to police, Williams fared well in school and was not the victim of bullying.

The grieving mom had written in her personal blog that her daughter was so distraught about having a sibling. “We were as happy as happy could be until one day my then 8-year-old woke up and decided that she wasn’t exactly thrilled about being a Big Sister,” Torres wrote according to the Daily News.

If Williams’ death is categorized as a suicide, she will be the second child to have taken her own life in the borough in less than a year. Last May, Wilnery Polanco-Uben, 11, committed suicide after she played hooky from school and texted her friends of her impending death at her own hands. The child hung herself from a bedroom door.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention states that fewer than one in 100,000 children ages 10 to 14 years old commit suicide each year.

    for this family

She probably knew it wasn’t going to be all about her anymore, and she maybe thought that her parent’s weren’t going to love her as much.

 these are the things that come to mind. Shoot maybe it stems from daddy issues?

:offtopic: but then may be not…May is Children’s Mental Health Awareness Month. Alot of these parents are seeing and hearing their children cry out for help and are either throwing it aside as bad behavior/attitude or doing nothing at all. I commend this mother for getting her child into therapy. Sometimes speaking with someone outside of the home can help. It’s just sad because I see these babies everyday struggling with demons and I can only pray……Sorry for the rant. I work for a CSB specializing in Childrens Services and it’s just heartbreaking……
