Viewers loved the premiere of Tyler Perry’s ‘The Haves and the Have Nots’ on Oprah’s OWN Network. The series premiere drew record ratings for Tyler and Oprah’s joint partnership. But the critics reviews of the show were brutal.

The show’s stars, Tika Sumpter, left, Renee Lawless and John Schneider helped to make “The Haves and the Have Nots” the network’s highest-rated premiere “ever,” according to a release from OWN.

Clarence Burke Jr dies

Clarence Burke Jr., lead singer and guitarist of the sibling group The Five Stairsteps died Sunday. Burke’s death, one day after he turned 64, was confirmed by his manager, Joe Marno.

The R&B group once regarded as “the first family of soul” were the precursor for sibling R&B groups such as The Jackson 5, The Sylvers and Brighter Side of Darkness.

Kelly Rowland

R&B Diva Kelly Rowland told her audience at a recent club performance that surviving domestic abuse made her a better woman.

The former Destiny’s Child background singer started off her set by saying a quick “f*ck you” to anyone who misunderstood the original intent of her “Dirty Laundry” single.

Kelly then went on to reminisce about the domestic abuse she suffered at the hands of Cuda Love, Nelly’s former or present road manager.

Drake and his father

Rapper Drake worked hard to keep his last album under wraps to prevent unauthorized leaks. But he forgot to keep a close eye on his OG dad, musician Dennis Graham. Drake’s pops leaked the tracklist for Drake’s new album, Nothing Was The Same, yesterday on Instagram.com. The tracklist was quickly deleted.

The release date for Drake’s next album, on Cash Money, Young Money records, is yet to be determined. This is only significant because Drake raps about adding “no new friends” to his clique to protect his privacy, then his own daddy betrays him.

If you didn’t get a chance to attend the star-studded All White Affair PRIVÉ Grand Opening presented by Alex Gidewon and Mr. Rugs, here’s the stunning behind-the-scenes video created by the Silent giants at @CTRLATL!

The PRIVÉ grand opening was hosted by R&B crooner Trey Songz and reality TV Diva Draya Michele. All of Atlanta turned out for this all white affair. Even the ones who couldn’t get in had a great time.

Alex Gidewon and Mr. Rugs made sure no stone was left unturned in preparation for the grand opening. No bottles were left unopened at PRIVÉ on Monday night.
