Teen refused heart transplant

A 15-year-old Atlanta boy who needs a new heart will not be placed on the transplant list, according to doctors at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta-Scottish Rite.

Anthony Stokes has only 6 months to live if he doesn't get a life-saving heart transplant. Stokes was diagnosed with an enlarged heart last month after he complained of shortness of breath.

But after discussing his case with transplant doctors, Anthony's doctors at Scottish Rite told his mother, Melencia Hamilton (pictured left), that he is not a viable candidate for a transplant because of his past history of "noncompliance".

Obama Eases Prison Sentences for Drug Offenders

The Obama administration plans to ease mandatory prison sentences for convicted drug dealers. The new policy will benefit black drug offenders who are disproportionately affected by the mandatory sentences.

Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. made the announcement Monday as part of a comprehensive prison reform package to reduce prison sentences for elderly, nonviolent inmates whose drug offenses are not gang-related or part of a large-scale drug operation (such as Black Mafia Family).

Interestingly enough, President Obama was an avid drug user in his college days.

Troubled singer Chris Brown made the cover of the current issue of Blank magazine wearing selected items by designers such as Lanvin, Paul Smith, Salvatore Ferragamo, Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci, and Balmain. Word is that Brown's girlfriend, Karrueche Tran, was "frantic" after hearing the news that Brown faked a seizure to gain sympathy from the media and other haters. Tran is reportedly sad that she can't be with her man to encourage him to seek psychiatric help.

No Muslim Parking Signs

Is this still America, the land of the free?

From MSN NOW:

The Westview Shopping Center is across the street from the El Farouq Mosque in a Houston neighborhood. Some worshippers have been known to park in the shopping center's lot while attending services at the mosque, but it seems like the shopping center could've handled the situation a little more delicately. Several "No Muslim Parking" signs were posted on Westview's property, leaving worshippers feeling unnerved and upset. "I feel sorry for the person who wrote it," Ahmed Hassan said. "Obviously he has a lot of hate." None of Westview's management or staff would take credit (or blame) for the signs. Shopping center owner Steve Kwon says he plans to remove the offensive signs — and any cars he says shouldn't be parked in his lot.

  • Elysium Tops Weekend Box Office

Sony Pictures science fiction thriller "Elysium" topped the box office this weekend with $30.5 million. "Elysium" stars Matt Damon as a modern day Moses who leads his people to the promised land -- Elysium -- a land of milk and honey where beautiful elitists get free health care and no one gets old or sick.

Earth in 2154 is a poverty-stricken wasteland overrun by undocumented aliens. To escape the overwhelming stench of the 99%, the "Haves" create a paradise in space protected by a futuristic air defense system.

Oscar winner Jodie Foster turns in a stiff performance as a heartless dictator-slash-president who fiercely defends her vision of Utopia -- even if it means killing women and children who dare to cross the celestial border from earth on decrepit space shuttles.

Michael Jordan can still dunk at age 50

Michael Jordan can still dunk at age 50
It's been years since Michael Jordan faced a pesky guard like the little kid he dunked on at his basketball camp over the weekend. Jordan proved that his post game is still formidable even at age 50. It will be a while before another youngster even thinks about guarding Jordan in the paint again. Don't let the grey hairs fool ya. Jordan is not ashamed to posterize a snot-nosed kid.

Judge orders boy name changed from Messiah A Tennessee couple who couldn't agree on a last name for their infant son ended up in front of a Bible thumping judge who ordered that they change the boy's first name from Messiah to a more acceptable name for black boy's: Martin.

Child Support Magistrate Lu Ann Ballew ordered Jaleesa Martin and the father of the 7-month-old boy to change his name to "Martin DeShawn McCullough," because it includes both parent's last names. Judge Bellow was unhappy with the child's first name because, according to her, only "one person" has ever been named Messiah.
