Ecstasy dealer

A female undercover officer in Arizona was relieved of duty after she began a sexual relationship with a drug dealer she was supposed to be tailing.

Jessica Dever-Jakusz was working undercover on a drug case in Tempe, AZ in June when she apparently fell for the charming ways of an unidentified ecstasy dealer.

Their illicit relationship continued for another two months until Dever-Jakusz’s husband found out about the affair and blew the whistle, ABC 15 reports.

According to a report obtained by the Huffington Post, “Dever-Jakusz’s inability to keep herself from sleeping with the suspected drug dealer compromised five months of police work and placed her colleagues in danger.”

The report states that Dever-Jakusz told the drug dealer all about her involvement in the undercover operation. The dealer reportedly had no clue he was under surveillance.

The report said that Dever-Jakusz’s lover was surprised when she told him that he was under investigation and that the two other female detectives buying Molly from him also were undercover police officers.

“Up until that time, (the suspect) did not know or ever suspected that Dever(-Jakusz) was a police officer,” the report said. The suspect told police that he didn’t think Dever-Jakusz was being malicious in revealing the information, but that she was “careless” and “carefree” in her revelations.
