George Zimmerman's attorney quits

The Florida defense attorney who helped win an acquittal for George Zimmerman is under investigation by the Florida bar. You may recall that Mark O’Mara famously dumped his problem-plagued client after claiming the former neighborhood watchman owed him $2.5 million in attorney’s fees.

A spokeswoman for the Florida Bar confirmed to multiple media outlets that there was an open investigation against O’Mara but declined to offer additional details. A spokesman for O’Mara, who won Zimmerman an acquittal for the murder of Trayvon Martin, told NBC that the lawyer “is unable to comment” on the bar complaint. Source

Zimmerman was acquitted of 2nd degree murder in the shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin. Zimmerman has been arrested for various offenses at least half a dozen times since his acquittal. Zimmerman, who is unemployed, is auctioning an original painting on eBay.com. The artwork reached over $110,000 in bids.
