The illegitimate son of actor and bodybuilding legend Arnold Schwarzenegger successfully passed a driving test to earn his California driver's license on Wednesday, Jan. 29.
Joseph Baena, 16, was spotted jumping for joy and showing off his new driver's license to his mother, Mildred Baena, after passing his driving test at the DMV in Bakersfield, California. Baena took his driving test in the brand new Jeep Rubicon given to him as a Christmas gift by his father.
Mildred Baena was Schwarzenegger's longtime housekeeper who provided discreet intimate services in addition to her cleaning duties. Schwarzenegger said he confessed to his wife, Maria Shriver, about Joseph, who was born on October 2, 1997. Shriver gave birth to Schwarzenegger's son Christopher on September 27, 1997. Baena separated from her husband, Rogelio, in 1997, a few months after Joseph was born. She moved her son and daughter into a home purchased for them by Schwarzenegger.
Joseph was never told who his biological father was. He learned the truth when the LA Times broke the story on May 16, 2011. Shriver moved out of the couple's Brentwood mansion one week before the story broke. Though separated, the couple have never officially divorced -- probably due to Shriver's religious beliefs on marriage and divorce.
