Rapper/singer Nicki Minaj, 33, has apologized for using an iconic photograph of human rights activist Malcolm X to promote her new single “Lookin Ass Nigga”.
In a post on her Instagram page, Nicki, who is no stranger to controversies, said the photo was never intended to be the official cover art for her single.
“I apologize. That was never the official artwork nor is this an official single. This is a conversation. Not a single,” wrote Minaj, who calls herself Harajuku Barbie.
Minaj added she has nothing but the utmost respect for Malcolm X’s family.
