August Alsina Snaps On BET’s Keshia Chante for Asking About Trey Songz

How is it that the SAME people who wanted to excuse Chrissy Brown’s YOUTH as justification for beating Rihanna into the ground, are the same ones wanting this dude’s head cut off for saying, “$hit”.

At the end of the day, I’m sure we’ve all said something before thinking about it – I’ve been pissed and the curse word had left my lips before I had time to process it.

I hardly think that any teenager sitting in BET’s audience hadn’t heard the word $hit before. Hell, they may play the edited versions of the videos, but it’s a pretty safe bet that everyone in the audience has heard, or owns the uncut version.

If this dude were a rapper, having an ego wouldn’t be a problem – it would be expected. But because he sings, he’s supposed to be even-tempered in the midst of being caught off-guard by someone trying to make a name for herself, who then walked off set as if SHE had been disrespected.

For one, if HE told them not to bring it up, it’s a touchy subject that he had no desire to revisit, as a professional, that should’ve been respected. I’ve interviewed plenty celebrities and when I’ve been told to steer clear of something, either I steer clear, or I opt out of the interview. When Tonex came out of the closet, I was going to do an interview with him and was told that they needed to “approve” my entire list of questions. I declined the interview after several back and forths and explained that being prepped for every question I was planning to ask was not an interview, but an essay. So bye!

This guy is young and he cursed. Big damn deal. Why are we always ripping young black folk apart for the most trivial $hit and trying to uplift the ghetto mf’s who are detrimental to black America?

So, we’re going to destroy a career for saying $hit, but the men who beat on their women, and piss on your doorters get compassion?

No but for real EYE was referring to his attitude. I have heard and seen a few of his interviews and he has an entitled and often nasty disposition

Well, I can’t really speak to his disposition, I’m “judging” solely on what I see here, because I’ve never heard one of his songs and never seen him in an interview prior to this – although I’d heard the name before.

I don’t know his history of ignorance/arrogance.

But I will say that I don’t like that we automatically tear black men apart. He could have a past that has caused him to be “angry”… I just don’t know. I USED to be quick to judge someone for being ignorant, but now, I try to have a healthy respect for that which I don’t understand. Are you learning from it? Has there been any growth, or are you like Kanye and being childish and offering no apologies, or growth for your behavior? Maybe that’s where you are because you speak of a consistantly arrogant disposition and for that, I understand, but as I said – all I know about him is this right here and there is no garuantee that I won’t feel just like you in a few more interviews.

At the end of it all, I don’t like that we tear each other apart for what amounts to a personality flaw.

Sean Penn attacked and whooped paparazzi before anyone knew what a pap was/September said, “$hit”
Miley brought coochie poppin’ to the mainstream for 8 year old girls who had no idea to pop their own pocketbooks/December said, “$hit”

All I’m saying is that WE shouldn’t tear him down when he hasn’t hurt anyone – he just seems to have an ugly disposition.
