DJ Beestroh returns to Hot 1079

Like a Phoenix rising from the ashes, Hot 107.9’s DJ Beestroh returns to the radio airwaves on Saturday for the first time after Hot 107.9 suspended him without pay.

Beestroh will be on the air from 2-6 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays starting this weekend. The 34-year-old DJ was suspended by corporate bigwigs in Washington D.C. after his arrest following a shootout outside Velvet Room nightclub last month.

Casino singer Beyonce can’t stand to be outshined by anyone. We knew she had something up her sleeve when Kenyan actress Lupita Nyong’o was named People magazine’s “Most Beautiful Woman” yesterday. It was inevitable that Beyonce would try to upstage Lupita and steal her shine.

This morning TIME magazine announced Beyonce topped their list of “100 Most Influential People in the World.” Bey’s honor comes one year after her aging rap star husband Jay Z also used his inside connections to make the cover of TIME‘s Most Influential issue.

Chris Brown‘s ex-girlfriend Karruche Tran was seen arriving at Create Nightclub in Hollywood, CA. last night, where she partied with singer and reality TV star Christina Milian and rapper Fabolous. Karrueche caught a flight back from Washington D.C. on Wednesday, where she showed her support for Brown. Brown’s misdemeanor assault trial was delayed until June 25th after his bodyguard refused to testify on Wednesday. Brown must now take a weeklong, circuitous route back to his California jail cell in the custody of federal marshals via bus and plane.

Chris Brown’s misdemeanor assault trial in D.C. has been delayed again, Hiphopenquirer.com reports.

Brown¹s trial was delayed until June 25th because his bodyguard, Christopher Hollosy, invoked his 5th amendment right against self-incrimination and refused to testify on Brown’s behalf until he is sentenced that same day.

Rappers Offering $100,000 for Cough Syrup

According to gossip tabloid TMZ, rappers are offering up to $100,000 for bottles of Promethazine and Codeine cough syrup, otherwise known as Phenergan-Codeine (with a prescription) or “Sizzurp” and Purple Drank on the streets.

Actavis, the makers of Phenergan-Codeine cough syrup, are fed up with rappers and wannabes like Lil Wayne and Justin Bieber abusing their product for cheap highs.

Lil Wayne was sidelined last year with seizures — a known side effect of Codeine abuse.

 Gay Couple Files Federal Lawsuit

Three gay couples are challenging Georgia’s ban on same-sex marriage, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

The three couples and a lesbian widow filed a federal lawsuit challenging the ban that prevents homosexual marriages from taking place in Georgia.

The plaintiffs include two Atlanta men who are raising a 9-year-old boy together.
