Ohio Woman Tested for Ebola

The 2nd American Ebola patient arrived in Atlanta from Liberia today.

Nancy Writebol arrived on a private jet at Dobbins military base near Atlanta just after 12 noon. Writebol was transported to Emory Healthcare by a specially equipped ambulance.

Video from a CNN helicopter showed Writebol being removed from the ambulance on a gurney and wheeled into the hospital by 2 healthcare workers wearing hazmat suits.

Dr. Kent Brantly, the first American to be treated for Ebola on American soil, arrived in Atlanta on Saturday. He walked off the ambulance and into Emory hospital. His condition is reportedly improving.

Meanwhile, a Columbus, Ohio woman and a New York man are being tested for the deadly Ebola virus.

According to WKRN.com, the 46-year-old Ohio woman is in an isolation ward after a recent trip to West Africa. A blood sample has been sent to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta. The woman is reportedly doing well in a Ohio hospital.

A New York man who was tested for Ebola after visiting West Africa is in an isolation unit. Doctors don’t believe he is infected with Ebola, but they are taking precautions until they know the test results.

A secret antibody serum developed in California may have saved the lives of the 2 infected healthcare workers. But critics wonder why Kent and Writebol received special treatment and why the same serum wasn’t made available to the 800 people of color who died in West Africa.

The secret serum was never tested on humans before. It had previously been tested only on rats and monkeys.

The Ebola outbreak in West Africa has killed over 800 people since March.

My mother and I literally said the same thing when this was on ABC world News Sunday night…

At this point, I’m not TOO nervous about it, these are isolated cases and the results have not come back to confirm that anyone outside of the doctors have contracted Ebola…they are simply testing them at this point….if more cases pop up…that would be a different story

A sample was sent to the CDC for examination, and according to Melanie Amatto with the Ohio Department of Health, the woman’s test results were not positive, and she does not have Ebola.

@Butter To make a long story short Stroke lady used to report to the CFO. Got away with bloody murder even though even one complained. CFO retires. Now she reports to me. Everybody is like you can do what you need to do now that she is gone. But nobody ever kept record of it before me. Already gave her a verbal in May for excessive tardiness and last minute absences as it affects the dept and others ability to do work. She was all :confused: I will do better but I didn’t think it was an issue. Cut to the last 3 weeks where she has been out twice due to “sickness” and late 4 times that I took the time to document. The sickness was she came up to my early in the am last week saying she was having sharp shooting pains in her arm and shoulder and numbness on one side in her hand. She about 50/60 so I couldn’t be like BISH IS YOU DYING FROM A STROKE so I said do you need an ambulance and she was all :stop: no I think I am just going to go to the chiropractor. I said ummmm so you not hurt? Then she doubled over in pain and said oh God yes I am in pain!!! She left and never came back. Get a vm the next day like I went to an Urgent Care… they called me an ambulance bc of my symptoms. I was in the ER until 6:30 pm that night. They found nothing wrong. I think it’s a pinched nerve from when I moved a table so I am going to go to the chiro. But I am in too much pain to come in today. Be back tomorrow I AM SO SAWRY. Then today she was late.

Hey Unshakable! No clue! She’s the daughter of a family friend. I had to ask like 5 times if it was permanent disability because I couldn’t believe it. I know folks with leukemia and MS that can barely move but they got denied multiple times by disability. Ridiculous
