Beautiful Textures Honors Tameka Tiny Harris

Yesterday, Beautiful Textures, Pynk Mag and Rich Girl Candy joined together rap mogul T.I. "Tip" Harris to honor entrepreneur and former Xscape lead singer Tameka "Tiny" Harris during The BET Hip Hop Awards Power Brunch at the Oceanaire Seafood Room in Atlanta. The successful event was marketed by Atlanta's own Nicole Garner, owner and founder of The Garner Circle Public Relations firm.

Cindy Boren of the Washington Post reminded readers that Solo is currently awaiting trial in November on two counts of misdemeanor domestic violence. The incident invovled her sister and 17-year-old nephew.

So while Solo awaits trial she continues to play and she remains part of the Nike family, something Ray Rice and Adrian Peterson can't say. She's also still on the field, unlike Peterson and Rice. Boren challenges readers to ask why Solo's case is treated differently.

Solo actually married former NFL player Jerramy Stevens, just hours after he was released following a domestic violence arrest involving her back in 2012. Stevens was released because there was "no evidence connecting Stevens to any assault."

    _______________

Does she drink enough? Dry hair essentially starts with your hydration level, plus if its curly/kinky its inherently dry. And in a fine texture on top of that and lordT its struggle. Coco oil has protein binders so yes it will help prevent breakage, the best and first moisturizer is water... coco oil should be sealing in water/moisture. It will take a few weeks before you see the difference or you may see it in a week. Just depends. Also you cant really "do" fine hair too much. Protective styles really are best. The manipulation of everyday styling would be way too much.

HTH. :) Also for the baby, shea moiture has a lovely line. They also sell a line for "fine" hair. Its the yucca line in green. Its absolutely wonderful.

    OutsidetheBox says:

Does she drink enough? Dry hair essentially starts with your hydration level, plus if its curly/kinky its inherently dry. And in a fine texture on top of that and lordT its struggle. Coco oil has protein binders so yes it will help prevent breakage, the best and first moisturizer is water… coco oil should be sealing in water/moisture. It will take a few weeks before you see the difference or you may see it in a week. Just depends. Also you cant really “do” fine hair too much. Protective styles really are best. The manipulation of everyday styling would be way too much.

HTH. :) Also for the baby, shea moiture has a lovely line. They also sell a line for “fine” hair. Its the yucca line in green. Its absolutely wonderful.
    ____
She probably doesn't drink as much water as I try to make her drink
    :ashamed:

 it's kinky/curly and I don't do much to it. She likes to wear it in a afro and I have limit that to the weekends about twice a month after taking her hair down. I normally braid her hair and try to keep it moisturize while up but by days end no sign of moisture :bite:

Thank you all!! I am :pc: now

Jordan has extremely dry hair. Now when I wash her hair I condition it, and melt some coconut oil … pour it over the conditioner…. stick a little cap on her head for 10 mins then I wash it…. I blow her hair out…. and It’s been doing really good too

<<--This crazy face chick did this:

Andrea Brown, who is listed in a police report as living at the Howard Brown Health Center at 4025 N. Sheridan Road, was charged with first-degree murder in the death of Tamica Riley, 37.

According to prosecutors the women were arguing on Sept. 14 in a hallway in the 800 block of South California Avenue over money Riley may have owed Brown, according to prosecutors.

As the argument escalated, Brown allegedly took Riley’s shoes and told Riley that she would not return them until the money was repaid, prosecutors said.

The argument became physical when Brown knocked Riley to the floor and jumped on her, prosecutors said. With Riley on the floor, Brown jumped on the victim, straddling her and putting her arm over Riley’s neck. Brown began pressing down, leaving the victim struggling to breathe, prosecutors said.

Brown then sat on Riley’s face, preventing her from breathing, prosecutors said. Prosecutors said Brown weighed twice what Riley weighed. According to police reports Brown weighs 235 pounds.

Witnesses responding to Brown smothering Riley yelled for her to stop and Brown jumped off Riley and fled the scene, leaving Riley in the stairway of the building, according to prosecutors. Brown was arrested on a sidewalk nearby at 3100 W. Polk St.

Riley was pronounced dead at the scene. The Cook County medical examiner’s office determined that Riley died of asphyxiation in a homicide. Police earlier said the woman was battered.

San for moister I used to use Olive oil moisturizer cream stuff for my girls. But now we all use the same ish. Depending on what their hair feels like I use either Elasta Qp mango butter moisturizer, or some damn curl activator. The one in the yellow and red bottle. It's cheap but not only that it works. Keeps the hair from getting dry. And I seal with a light oil. Grape seed, or something light like that. And don't blow dry, it makes the hair dry as hell. I let the girls hair air dry and I but a leave in conditioner in also. Cantu is great.

    _____________

I meant to say think of oils as not being moisturizers... so they should be topping something, not being topped.

I am in Florida. We kinkys mositurize twice a day here. Morning and night. The air is really humid so if you have say a glycerin heavy product, the air will take moisture from your hair. Its all scientific really.. so i make sure to use season appropos products. Glycerin draws moisture to itself. When there is lots of moisture in the air, glycerin brings that moisture to you. When there isn’t much moisture in the air, (like when its colder) glycerin pulls from your hair. When that happens happens, your hair will feel very dry.

Try a light spritz of water and apply oil in the morning...same thing when she comes home, and tie it up at night or satiny pillowcases. Eventually the hair will "get better" and you can moisturize less.
