Jameis Winston

Yesterday, the Florida State Seminoles lost for the first time in 29 games. It was also the first loss for quarterback Jameis Winston since high school. The Oregon Ducks destroyed the formerly undefeated ‘Noles by the score of 59-20 in the first-ever College Football Playoff semifinal.

But it was what happened on the sidelines that threatened to spoil Oregon’s upset win.

Some of the Oregon players taunted Winston with chants of “No means no!”

From the NY Post:

As Florida State’s Heisman-winning quarterback walked off the field, following an embarrassing 59-20 loss, at least three Ducks players — including running back Kani Benoit and linebacker Torrodney Prevot — mocked the Seminoles by doing a Tomahawk chop, replacing the school’s war chant with a chant directed at Winston — “No means no!” — which was repeated multiple times.

Winston was infamously accused by a fellow Florida State student of sexual assault in December 2012, but criminal charges were never filed against the 20-year-old redshirt sophomore, who was cleared of any wrongdoing by the university prior to the playoff game.

Oregon coach Mark Helfrich said in a statement: “We are aware of the inappropriate behavior. This is not what our programs stand for and the student-athletes will be disciplined internally.”
