Last week, Sandrarose.com incorrectly misidentified the woman in a photo with rap legend MC Lyte as her longtime girlfriend. Over the weekend I received an email from the woman who identified herself as entertainment executive Lynn Richardson. She categorically, but politely, denied being Lyte's lover. We regret the error.
Read Lynn's well-written email after the break.
I am writing to correct a few items in your blog.
1. This was not a BET Honors event. It is a celebration of firsts honoring MC Lyte. I'd be happy to share more details for your readers if you would like them.
I am the woman in the picture with MC Lyte. I am the Chief Operating Executive of her empire and the President/CEO of the organization she founded: Hip Hop Sisters Foundation. Moreover, though I love God and all His people and I do not judge others, I AM NOT MC Lyte's girlfriend, lover or anything of that mature. I've been happily married to a man whom I love, Demietrius Richardson, for 20 years and I am a proud mother of three beautiful daughters. I was born and raised in the projects of Chicago by my grandmother who was 75 years old cleaning homes for wealthy people while putting me through college and is still living vibrantly at the age of 93. I am a celebrity financial coach who helps people stop "living check to Monday" and I've run companies and programs for some of worlds most influential people, including Russell Simmons and Les Brown; simply put, I love life and living and giving my talents to others in need (www.lynnrichardson.com / www.lynnrichardson.tv / www.lynnrichardson.info).
I respect your post and appreciate that you shared the truth - that my status was not confirmed - and I realize that while many lie about their lifestyles to protect their images, there is nothing to protect here except the truth.
I pray that you receive this message with the spirit in which it is being delivered: nonjudgmental truth and love.
Please don't hesitate to contact me of you have questions.
