There is a video circulating on social media that features an unknown rapper threatening to kill LA Reid, CEO of Epic Records, because he failed to help rapper Bobby Shmurda secure a bond to get out of jail.
“These are bad people,” Commissioner Bill Bratton said during a press conference held in December. “They shouldn’t be celebrated.”
Shmurda is being held on $2 million bail in solitary confinement following an altercation with another gang member behind bars.
Shmurda called into Hot 97 on Thursday morning and spoke with Ebro, Laura Stylez and Peter Rosenberg of the "Ebro in the Morning" Show.
“Yeah, they got me in P.C., man, Protective Custody,” he said.
The 20-year-old Miami native said he is being treated well in jail, all things considered. But he mentioned how unjust his arrest was and how arresting officers told him "I don’t want my kids listening to your music." The phone call ended abruptly moments later.
Shmurda is still hoping to make bail soon.
