Rap mogul and entrepreneur Clifford "T.I." Harris, Jr. will hold a grand opening for his new restaurant, Scales 925, in April, the AJC reports.
T.I. purchased Vibe Restaurant & Lounge late last year. After renovating the space, the father of 6 children has scheduled a ribbon cutting ceremony this Friday.
On Friday evening, City of Atlanta officials will join Atlanta rapper, record producer, and actor, Clifford “T.I.” Harris, at the ribbon cutting ceremony for his new restaurant, Scales 925. A soft opening will follow on April 1, with a Grand Opening party scheduled for April 14.
Located at 30 Allen Plaza on Ivan Allen Jr. Blvd. in downtown Atlanta, Scales 925 will offer a mix of “upscale Southern cuisine” and a design that “borrows from the Harlem Renaissance era.” The main dining room is described as “classy, elegant” and “very ornate and chic, but not stuffy.”
Other rappers have opened and closed restaurants in the Atlanta area. Most notably Jermaine Dupri and Chris "Ludacris" Bridges. Syndicated radio morning man Frank Ski has had better luck with his trendy restaurant on Peachtree Street. But rumor has it that he is seeking a buyer for Frank Ski's Restaurant & Lounge.
