When singer/actress Zendaya Coleman walked the red carpet at the 2015 Oscars wearing fake dreads, no one thought her look would start a trend.
Coleman's fake dreads caused a sensation when Fashion Police host Giuliana Rancic made racist comments about them. Rancic must have believed Coleman's dreads were the real thing when she said Coleman's dreads smelled like weed.
Dreadlocks are worn by Rastafarians to symbolize their spiritual journey. Only Americans subjugate (and insult) other people's culture and traditions to make fashion statements.
To add insult to injury, ghetto hair stylists are copying Coleman's style -- with questionable results.
One stylist tweeted the above photos showing off her handiwork. The poor child in the photos (I can't tell if it's a boy or girl) is wearing fake dreads braided tightly into her hair. The child is struggling to keep from crying out in pain.
This is not a good look. The stylist should be brought up on charges for child abuse.
