The Chicago Bears cut defensive lineman Ray McDonald following Monday's arrest on domestic violence and child endangerment charges.
This is the same Ray McDonald who was cut by the San Francisco 49ers in December for an alleged sexual assault.
According to The Santa Clara Police Department, McDonald "physically assaulted" his ex-fiancee who was holding a baby. McDoanld was arrested in December 2014 for sexually assaulting the same woman who was pregnant at the time.
McDonald left the location where the incident occurred and was arrested at an address owned by former 49ers teammate Justin Smith, per Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee.
McDonald has a son who was born in March. The 30-year-old was was previously arrested for domestic violence in August 2014 against his ex-fiancee, who was pregnant at the time, but no charges were filed.
The woman involved filed a lawsuit in May against both McDonald and 49ers outside linebacker Ahmad Brooks, while McDonald filed a defamation lawsuit in response.
Chicago signed McDonald to a one-year deal in March and have not yet issued a response to the report of the arrest.
Usually teammates are saddened to see a popular player go, but not in McDonald's case.
Bears guard Kyle Long tweeted "Good riddance," a sentiment likely shared by the entire defensive line.
Some fools never learn.
