New Music: Monica Brown – Just Right for Me”

Friend of the blog, songbird Monica Brown just dropped a new single titled “Just Right for Me” featuring rapper Li’l Wayne. The single is produced by Mo’s longtime friend and collaborator Polow Da Don.

“Just Right for Me” is the 1st single off Monica’s much-anticipated new album Code Red.

Mo’s faithful fans have patiently waited for a new album from their idol.

But Monica took time off from recording to raise her three children, Rodney Ramone Hill III, who turns 10 on Thursday; Romelo Montez Hill, 7, and 20-month-old daughter Laiyah Shannon Brown, while her loyal husband, Shannon Brown, brings home the bacon.

There is no doubt that Monica can blow, I just wish she would let her voice be more whimsical. I don’t like when singers run every single (or many) notes. It takes away from the “lull” of the song.

One singer who didn’t do this was Toni Braxton. Another artist that knew how to control their voice well was Luther. He knew how to make love to every single note, giving it the individual attention it needed. Barry White was yet another.

But the song is beautiful and I give it a 9.5 on a scale of 10. I also agree with whomever wondered why is Lil Wayne on the track. She could have held it down sans Wayne. But she is beaullifah and holds her own, as always.

I could do without Lil Wayne on this track, but I understanding trying to appeal to the masses. There is no doubt Monica can sing and has a fan base, she hasn’t reached the “crossover” status and may be trying to do that with this song…and some in the past.

She can rock some clothes! If she wasn’t a mom, I could see her giving Rihanna a run for her money in the fashion game! Monica has the bod for it, slim and can pull off different looks.

Awe thanks. We had her ass home EARLY this year. Nothing too bad happened. We got our free birthday cupcakes from the spot we had dinner at…and she asked the folks could she have cheesecake instead, cause their cupcakes were horrible. But it was the end of the meal.
