Wilbourn and Bolton

Memphis police have identified a suspect in the death of Officer Sean Bolton, 33, who was shot while conducting a traffic stop on Saturday.

An arrest warrant was issued for Tremaine Wilbourn, 29, who allegedly "shot the officer multiple times."

Authorities say Bolton spotted an illegally parked 2002 Mercedes-Benz and approached the vehicle.

A "brief struggle" ensued and Wilbourn allegedly shot Bolton. Wilbourn and the car's driver then fled the scene.

As a massive manhunt got underway for the 2 suspects, the driver turned himself in to police.

The driver was later released.

A $10,000 reward is being offered by the U.S. Marshals Service for information leading to the arrest of Wilbourn.

I read about this over the weekend.. Too sad.

  • Jusstlookn2

    Damn...locks office door.

  • Bootcampgirl

The driver was later released. I'd like to know the circumstances behind that...

  • Its Me

All of this over a lil amount of WEED I read. What in the hell? Prayers up for family impacted by a stupid azz decision.

  • Buttercup

Tremaine will be found, arrested, and tried in a court of law. He'll likely be found guilty and receive a life sentence. So.....

  • San-ah

How dreadful. Sick of hearing this shyt

  • luVn_liFe…

It's an unfortunate situation.. Im Sure Wilbourn figured may as well kill him before he kills me.
    Shame

  • luVn_liFe…

    Right. F I S H Y

  • Chocolate diva

    So true

  • Wuts got Petty Davis Eyes..

Morning Yall!!! So who surprised? Our men are officially scared of the police. All you hear is US getting killed over simple circumstances. He had the mentality it him vs me. Sadly this won't be the last one... Bet money bruh like well Im alive though.. so Ill take jail over that. It is sad but I bet that's his thoughts...oh BTW

  • Bootcampgirl

They got the death penalty there, he may just obtain new living quarters on the row...

  • luVn_liFe…

It's a tragic way of thinking for civilians and police officials.
    Shame.

  • DDNY

    not today Satan.

  • MissyJ

Shame shouldn't NOBODY lose their life over a traffic stop...

  • Wuts got Petty Davis Eyes..

Hey sugah HUG.. bet his mentality was "This police finna conjure up a way to kill me! I got weed too!" He was just thinking about his life vs the cops...so sad but this is the fear that the police has instilled in our black men...It wont help him when he goes to court even if he pleads it was self defense he going to do some long hard time.

  • JerseyMom

The cop rolled up on the wrong n****. Oh well.

  • Its Me

    Hey hun bun-bun.

I dont recall not ONE case as of late though.... when the PASSENGER got killed by a cop. Notta one. I mighta MISSED a case cause there have been ALOT. But normally the passenger dont get killed. So good luck to him trying to say he felt endangered.

  • Wuts got Petty Davis Eyes..

You KNOW they are going to make an example of him...smh..

  • Bootcampgirl

In all honesty, "if he did it", they should...He gave 0 fcks neither should they...IMO

  • whitty hutton

I pray black folks don't start using "I'm scared of the police" as the rationale for killing cops. It's asinine and self-destructive. Cops will stop policing minority areas leading to an uptick in crimes in those areas cuz criminals will take full advantage of lax policing. I, for one, would still like a prompt response should I call 911 for assistance.

  • Its Me

I was just saying down below to @Wut...before this...I cant recall a case where the black PASSENGER got killed via cop. Does anyone know of a case? Its been so many lately. Sad. But its gonna be hard for him as the passenger to say: I felt my life was at risk. So I shot first.

  • L.T.L. Since 2007

Sad situation. But I'm sure they'll find Meek and Wale's love child (Wilbourn) and he will be dealt with. Severely. As someone said down below, I wonder if dude thought he was gonna turn out to be another hash tag and kirked out.

  • Afiya

All this over three sticks of weed? What a dummy!! Might as well....

  • Afiya

LOL, I just said the same thing :)

  • Wuts got Petty Davis Eyes..

True..but how did it end up where he was asked to be removed from the car...see there is the prollem.. If it was a routine stop and it was escalated to him being removed from the car..he then to me become like any other black man in a car. This scares me cuz I know 6'6 loves Whheeed..He may have a 20 piece on him at any time. Something that's a misdemeanor offense now feels like you could lose your life cuz cops playing Judge Dread out there..

  • Jusstlookn2

I may have been on something else. Maybe he can plead insanity like the yts do. It works for them.

  • L.T.L. Since 2007

I hate to say it, but he's gonna have a hard time SAYING anything if the right, or wrong cop finds him. Dude might not make it.

  • Its Me

He could have admitted that he had the weed on him. And was asked to step out. He coulda had his name run and he had warrants and he was asked to step out. I think he was in the process of being arrested. We dont know yet. But from what Ive read those deets are coming. Whole thing is sad. Cause in essence two lives were lost. Cop life and Tremaine life.

  • Its Me

    THIS.

  • Jusstlookn2

Just why...I will not laugh. I am not.

  • Letmecommentbeforeicant

All I know is if ever get pulled over I'm making sure my doors are locked, window is cracked just enough to exchange cards and the ticket, and someone I love is on the phone on either a voice call or FaceTime to witness EVERYTHING.

The answer is to not shoot them because you'll be put in prison and become a constant victim of police brutality.

  • Its Me

DUDE look just LIKE BOFF of em!!!!!!!!!!

  • iWasteTime

I have a whole lot of questions that this write up nor the other outlets have answers for.

  • Jusstlookn2

You right. Officer or driver or otherwise.

  • whitty hutton

This kinda shyt does nothing to further the cause of stopping the unjust violence of cops against Black people. All he did was make cops feel more justified in asking us to exit our vehicles during routine traffic stops to ensure their own safety.

For folks who hate cops so much, don't call them the next time you're a victim of crime.

  • Its Me

    Hey hun.

Alright chall Im out to go build a budget. Until lunch time...*poof*

  • Jusstlookn2

Every since I been driving....everytime I get pulled over.

I go into prayer and call my moma. ..

    Got a lead foot

  • Wuts got Petty Davis Eyes..

    True very true.

  • Buttercup

    New post

  • imright

he derseves a Go Fund Me acct. ???

  • Wuts got Petty Davis Eyes..

I sincerely believed this was the case. He probably thought him over me..and his survival/fear kicked up and ....

  • whitty hutton

I answer their questions, provide the documents asked for, take the ticket and handle it in court.

Fighting verbally or physically with an officer during a traffic stop is a fight you won't win. It just ain't worth it. Record the interaction and use it to support your case in court but it ain't worth it when the cop has a gun, tazer, mace, baton, etc.

  • Wuts got Petty Davis Eyes..

Oh and go to hell for making me laugh about the Meek-Wale love child...

  • 1/8

And people wonder why cops have an itchy trigger finger.

  • Wuts got Petty Davis Eyes..

Hears what I know.. you use law against them just like you use the bible gainst the devil. You remain calm and you know your rights you state your rights with codes and let it be that.

  • DoubtingBelief

The officer interrupted a drug deal and this guy was on federal probation and would have had a sure ticket to a federal pen if he had been arrested. Sometimes it's nothing more than no good dudes not wanting to be caught.

  • Liz

This is not justification for itchy trigger finger. This is a sad, f*cked up situation and this officer did not deserve to die. That is all...one bad apple does not spoil the bunch. You toss it out and salvage the rest.

  • 1/8

    ??

  • 1/8

Why, because the cop is white?

  • http://sandrarose.com SandraRose

I said the same thing on Saturday when this story broke. There's a reason cops draw their guns when they conduct a traffic stop involving black men.

  • http://sandrarose.com SandraRose

    Good luck with that.

  • http://sandrarose.com SandraRose

The driver didn't pull the trigger. And , most likely, the driver ID'd the suspect.

  • whitty hutton

Agree to disagree. The courtroom is where you defend yourself, state your case, facts and law to support it, etc. If a cop was going to only give you a warning and you go popping off talmbout what you know, what he can and can't do, etc...what's the point?

I'm not saying kiss ass cuz I don't and never will, but I know when and where to make my case and where I can have the most impact. You can also file a complaint so there is a written record of the officer's behavior. We use social media for everything else, so use it to blast officers who are rude, disrespectful and aggressive, rather than put yourself in a life-threatening situation.

  • Petty_boots

No, cops have itchy trigger fingers because of their perceptions of others, childhood experiences, etc. Walter Scott was running away and still died. Why? Because the officer probably felt like "statistics" were right and scott wasn't worth living anyway. Darren Wilson looks like he's been bullied all his life and finally did something about it with Mike Brown. Zimmerman felt like black people didn't belong in his part of Florida, and we all know how that ended. People go on a power trip and that's that.

  • CaliYoruba

Cops die everyday,B. This only made headlines b/c of the sensationalism of #blacklivesmatter

  • whitty hutton

Walter Scott should not have run off. No, the dumbass officer shouldn't have shot him and I hope he gets prison time or the death penalty; however, Scott shoulda took the ticket or went on to jail for the back child support warrant. Running off wasn't worth it and now his kids are growing up without their father.

  • 1/8

I wonder how many cops are killed or injured by black offenders during traffic stops, versus other races.

  • Petty_boots

True, he shouldn't have ran, but is that the appropriate method for apprehending someone over a ticket? Chit, the cop got his info, if anything, they coulda showed up at his house and got him. I think that cop wanted to kill someone and was looking for a "justified" situation. Like, how do you sleep at night knowing you killed someone over a simple ass traffic ticket?

  • Sexy CJ

"Truly ain't no fun when the rabbit got the gun"............Truth.....

  • whitty hutton

I said the cop was wrong. I'm looking at the totality of the situation, not just the cop's behavior. I would've never jumped out the car and ran from a cop. That's ASKING to get shot, neat down, etc IMO.

  • Petty_boots

I'm looking at the totality too (I think). I agree that he shouldn't have ran, but he also shouldn't have been shot. Crazy thing is nobody knows what was said or done to make him feel like he was in danger (Walter Scott). How would you handle it if you were the cop and he ran?

  • whitty hutton

Like you said, we don't know what all was said but the video showed some back and forth about the ownership of the vehicle, and we learned later that there was a warrant(s) out for Scott.

I can't call it...the cop was dead wrong (no pun intended) but Scott shouldn't have run off. I'm thinking he didn't want to go to jail cuz he was heading out of town on vacay and didn't want to be stuck in jail for an indefinite amount of time over the child support issue.

If the cop was too lazy to finish the chase, tackle Scott and cuff him; then he should've called for backup (canine), impounded the vehicle and had a warrant issued for Scott's arrest for evading police and whatever other charges he was planning to ticket him for.

  • ABbaby

So innocent black men have to die because the cops are afraid to do their job properly? If you afraid of black men don't become a cop.

  • Low E. {CIRCA 1908}

WE WERE IN MIDTOWN WHEN WE FOUND OUT AND TOOK OUR ARSES STRAIGHT HOME AFTER...MEMPHIS IS GETTING OUTTA CONTROL. THERE'S CAUSE FOR ALARM, BUT KILL OR BE KILLED AIN'T GONNA GET IT. SO FAR THERE HAS BEEN NOTHING TO COME OUT ABOUT THIS OFFICER INDICATING HE WAS SHADY...MORE THAN LIKELY ONE OF THE GOOD GUYS AND THE CITY HAS LOST HIM BECAUSE THESE FOOLS (NOT SAYING HE DIDN'T HAVE A REASON TO BE ON ALERT) GOT CAUGHT SELLING DOPE.

I'M TRYING MY BEST NOT TO PICK A SIDE HERE...ON ONE HAND WE HAVE A SEEMINGLY GOOD COP AND ON THE OTHER A BLACK MALE WHO WAS COMMITTING A CRIME BUT THE ONLY THING IN HIS MIND HAD TO BE KILL OR BE KILLED...THIS IS TOO MUCH EVEN FOR MY BRAIN AND ESPECIALLY FOR MY CITY...THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS IN A POLICE STATE.

  • Petty_boots

He probably didn't wanna be stuck in jail like you said, and yes running away wasnt the smartest idea, but I just can't believe the audacity of that damn slager. Shooting to demobilize is different from what he actually did. There's no reason why a guy who's jogging away should be shot multiple times. Chit, if slager really wanted justice, he coulda caught up with Scott, and used any of your solutions, he just didn't want to. What happened to him anyway? Did he go to jail yet?

  • whitty hutton

I had to look it up. He's charged with murder and is out on bail. And yes, Scott's family speculated he didn't want to go to kail for the $18K in back child support.

  • aRoth

That cops stance was straight target practice, gun range. I still to this day think that he actually thought Mr. Scott was going to get up and walk away from all of this.

  • Lambily01

He survived a tour in Iraq only to end up being murdered by a coward when he made it back home to America.

  • TaylorFinallyMadeIt

*welp* rip to him when he is found

  • Wakando Shamar Taylor

He was jus the driver he turned himself in to distance himself from the shooter once the shooter got oit the car the accessory charges dont apply

  • Low E. {CIRCA 1908}

THE NEWS ALERTS ARE STEADILY COMING WITH DIRT ON HOMEBODY...JUST LAST WEEK THE POLICE KILLED A GUY WHO WAS THE PASSENGER IN THE CAR. IT'S BAD ALL THE WAY AROUND...

  • Wakando Shamar Taylor

It was stupid but guess he wasnt going back to jail he was already on 121 month probation gun a weed would have gave him some more time but not as much he gone het now!

Nah u reaching on this one dude got out the car before the police even got to the car good this was jus a dumb move on dude part

  • Tiffany Miller

Just waiting on the police PR campaign... Now we will begin to see these stories where they will make us feel that the officer should have shot the perpetrator. All African American traffic stops will be potential crime scenes.

  • Lambily01

True. But the majority don't die in the line of duty.

  • YouWearItWell

    That's some bs, all around.

  • Guess Who

Meek Mill...is dat you? You done let Drake's diss drive you over the edge, I see..

  • cam

    girl, wale is that you?

  • Tippie Toes

    Sad loss for his family.

  • Lambily01

More like "I don't want to go to prison for violating the terms of my probation, so I'll shoot him instead."

  • MocaPretty

Im sorry but who's to say this story would have went another route. Trigger happy police officers are in the news DAILY and as we learned a simple traffic stop proved deadly before. At least the headlines did not read Unarmed Man dead. Police shoot first and ask questions later so why not return the favor!

  • Bonny

My people just got killed so..?

  • Unita Lucinda “Lucy” Freebush

Not from where I'm from. If a death comes from the commission of a crime and you were there, you're an accessory. 4 girls were in a car. Driver hit and killed a woman. Everyone got it.

  • Wakando Shamar Taylor

Well he aint where u from

  • Unita Lucinda “Lucy” Freebush

Tennessee has an accomplice liability law. I'm he gave them something they wanted.

    Welcome Wak

  • Wakando Shamar Taylor

U are rt but only if the crime was premeditated they didn't plan together to go and murder a police officer if they thought they had something more on him believe me he would be charged whether he gave them what they want or not

  • Wakando Shamar Taylor

He got out the car himself he was not asked or was removed from the car
