Back and Forth

Rap mogul T.I.‘s former protege, sing-song rapper B.o.B., aka Bobby Ray, released a single off his new studio LP titled Psycadelik Thoughtz.

The dance track “Back and Forth” arrived a day earlier than promised. B.o.B. took to his Twitter.com page yesterday to announce the track would drop on Friday.

On Friday, B.o.B. will host a private listening party for Psychadelik Thoughtz at a secret location in Atlanta. 2 lucky B.o.B. fans will be plucked from the Rose Garden to attend the private gathering of industry tastemakers and music execs. So stay tuned!

I’m at a crossroads yall. I need some advice. I want to change careers permanently. I never finished my bachelors. I can’t move into my chosen field at my current employer without the degree, but other companies and consulting firms will and have worked with me in my chosen field without the degree. Many people hold on to things (relationships, jobs, etc) they are unhappy with out of fear… Fear of the unknown. I would recommend following your dreams wisely. Have a few months of bills set aside, or try to get a leave of absence at your perm job so in the event your dreams don’t take off as fast as you would like, you have a backup plan. Either way, think long and hard about what YOU want.

If you really want the degree go get it. i’m working on a second masters. No I dont need it, but its something that I want for myself. The person I was when I moved here to Chicago to pursue the first masters is gone. My outlook on life is different and so are my goals. Its nothing wrong with starting over. Dont rush it. If you have to take one or two classes a semester do it. Set your goals and go get it. Especially if your current job is not making you happy. Id rather take less money and work where I am happy than work for a company I loathe getting up going to work for. Life is too short for that bullshyt

That’s why I wanted to get in a Project related field with my current employer. So they could pay for it. It’s 3k. My mentor told me that the PMP is more valuable outside of our company than inside. She doesn’t have it and she has been a Project Manager at our company for 7 years. Yet a buddy of mine told me that she thinks she lost her PM job in our company because she doesn’t have her PMP even though she has a Masters. I guess you just never know.

I have a bachelor’s in BA myself. Hated what I was doing and so did my husband. He went back to school first and got a degree in Computer Science. Now its my turn and I’m slowly getting a Biology degree. All that to say I think you can set yourself up just fine if you take your time and position yourself. Start calling different schools to see what credits they may accept or even look into getting you A.A from a community college that will accept your credits. I was so scared to go to school for something completely out my field but now I’m doing it I am so relieved. It is worth the stress because now I see it as my light at the end of the tunnel. I know you can do it too. You have so much experience already.

Identify a problem that needs to be solved on my own and work on it so that I can get exposure in our company for completing a project from start to finish. I’m going to do that I think.

I do. I have about 5 years of PM experience. I was calling it project coordinator experience, but my mentor told me today that based on my experience spearheading projects from start to finish, then I was a project manager no matter what my job title was. She said what I was thinking of as a Project Manager is actually a Program Manager. She gave me a lot of clarity and it will allow me to sell myself more effectively.
