2 Texas HS Football Players Face Charges in Assault On Referee

It was a shocking sight more common in European football than American high school football. 2 Texas high school football players coordinated a blindside attack on a referee during a high school football game.

Police in Marble Falls, Texas, are considering what, if any, charges to file against the John Jay High School football players.

The 2 football players were suspended from the team and from school.

“It is not the good sportsmanlike behavior that we teach students,” said Pascual Gonzalez, chief spokesman for Northside schools. “Northside ISD will not tolerate this kind of behavior.”

Gonzalez said the district will review the film and interview coaches and other players before addressing the incident further.

Some observers speculate whether the coach instructed the boys to attack the referee after he made a bad call that went against John Jay High School.

I just don’t get it. My parents went out and had a good time on occasion but they definitely were not in the club every weekend. Their lives didn’t end because we were born but they sure didn’t stay at the same speed.

I guess the days of putting your family first are over.

When I was a child, weekends were family time. We’d go to the park for a picnic, play tennis together or fly our kites. If the weather was bad, my mother would bake cookies and make popcorn, and we’d gather around the TV and watch Fat Albert, Soul Train, and Family Classics.

I feel sorry for some of these children. I feel sorry for this planet.

There are referees that are complete jerks, just like there are parents on the sideline and bleachers that are out of control. These students and anyone else involved should be disciplined at the very least expelled.

That was planned…. If employees plotted to physically assault their boss they would be arrested. I hope parents and/or the coach isn’t involved. Even if the referee is or was a jerk or made bad calls find another way

I live in this state.. Nothing like this has ever happened in the history of high school football. This is a high school foot ball state if Ive ever seen one. Cities LOVE their high school football teams. If a coach implemented this call, he should be fired. Ref could’ve been seriously injured. I am befuddled. The society we live in is terrible.
