Nicki Minaj leaving Barneys New York in Los Angeles

Zendaya Coleman has her own Barbie doll, but rap mogul Nicki Minaj has her own television comedy series coming to ABC — the same network that brought you Empire.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Minaj will produce and star in the comedy TV series that will begin shooting in Queens, NY this winter.

The new television series is based on Minaj’s life. I wonder who she will cast to play her “boyfriend” Meek Mill?

From The Hollywood Reporter:

The half-hour, single-camera comedy is based on Minaj’s family’s immigration from Trinidad in the early ’90s. The untitled series will center on her childhood in Queens with her vibrant family and how her evolution led to her eventual rise to international fame. The project will shoot in Minaj’s hometown of Queens, New York starting this winter.

“This is one of the more unique adventures I’ve ever embarked on,” said Minaj in a statement. “I couldn’t be more proud and excited to team up with an amazing group of people to give the world something really special.”
