No one ever said police lives do not matter. It’s clear their lives do matter as every single one of the individuals who have killed police officers are dealt with promptly. Either arrested or killed. We can’t say the same for the officers who kill unarmed African Americans.

I am so very tired of people falsely arguing that the Black Lives Matter movement is bullying or hateful. It is the opposite of those things. And I feel that people who spout negative things about #BlackLivesMatter are disingenuous or obstinate, maybe both. Additionally:
(A) It’s not about political correctness. It’s about recognizing and respecting other people’s humanity, autonomy and agency.
(B) Some people (especially people of color) are treated unjustly by the police and that does justify civil disturbance of some kind. Otherwise, nothing would change.
(C) Even if Michael Brown and others slain were bad actors, they didn’t deserve to be killed like they were. I’ve seen nothing to indicate that any crimes the many unarmed men and women of color *might* have committed were capital offense crimes. I have seen white people we definitely knew to have committed violent crimes & knew to have weapons on them handled more deftly and with more mercy than unarmed black people.
(D) We live in a society that life as a white person has more important than the life of a person of color. That is why saying Black Lives Matter is valid and important. Society needs to be reminded again & again of the fact that black lives do indeed matter until it sinks in and society treats black lives as equally valuable as white lives.
