Australian rapper Iggy Azalea bristled at reports of friction between her and former mentor, rap mogul T.I.
In an appearance on Ebro's morning show on Hot 97, T.I. implied he had distanced himself from the controversial rapper. T.I. said he hasn't spoken to Azalea in months, and he suggested she's difficult to work with.
Azalea, 25, took to her social media accounts to deny any friction between herself and T.I., who still collects royalty checks from her music publishing.
Azalea told Global Grind "T.I. is still collecting publishing checks and acting like everything is normal between them.”
It sounds like Azalea, who hasn't had a hit record since 2014, is in her feelings about T.I. distancing himself from her.
She elaborated further in a lengthy response to a fan on social media.
“i have the same relationship that he has with travis scott and i dont see them writing about that. we dont get pedis together. and thats his MANAGER. Tip handles my publishing, i see him as much as i see my label bosses. its a business relationship. people dont understand when he came into my life he was mentoring me, i was 21 and it was my second mixtape. im not in atl making mixtapes anymore, im25 years old, live half way across the country and know what i want to do creatively. that means our relationship has changed to something thats really just publishing and business based. Its supposed to… im not supposed to be leaning on the man for help forever. tip and me a friends, but its always been business/creative thing. its not some thing were i hang out at his house and we eat popcorn together and it never has been.”
